Hi I was just playing a few old games on nes emulator, because the original console is god knows where - havent seen it in ages and the cartridges as well.|
I am trying to find remember a sidescrolling adventure game that me and my brother always loved to play, but sadly forgot the title.
What i know about the game:
1)Classic fighting adventure sidescroller - no pseudo 3d space like in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for example
2)Fantasy with monsters as enemies
3)Each stage ended with a boss - the first one was definitely something like a big witch on a broom
4)After each stage you would see your progress on the map
I know that this is pretty vague information, but hope dies last..
Forgot the name of Nes/Snes side scrolling game..

I can only think of contra.
Oh, and Castlevania.
Although I think it's either Ghosts'n'Goblins or Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts.

I was thinking Willow until point 3, because the boss of the first stage of that in the arcade is a wolf, not a witch. But then I checked out the Nintendo version of same game in case they'd changed the bosses, but it's actually entirely different - it's a Zeldaalike.
Dunno then. What's the SNES equivalent of Golden Axe?
Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Is it Ghost n Goblins?
(never made it to any boss in that so I wouldn't know)
If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

The Addams Family has a witch boss, but that doesn't sound like what you're after. I'm also guessing Actraiser or Ghouls and Ghosts, a quick look on Youtube should see you right.

A map is like comparing velocity and speed.

I don't think it is Actraiser - that was a combination of map strategy game and side scroller. You start on the map and then eventually get into the side scrolling bit. At which point I got completely stuck and gave up.
Not as nice as I used to be
What about Castle of Dragon?
Loved that game so much.
