Not sure where else to put this, but self explanatory.

I was waiting for Be to get Fibre, but without this happening, I am looking at the Plusnet package.

I had a DIRE time with Plusnet in the past, but looking at their Thinkbroadband ratings, this has been turned around.

    Yeah, just got the email.

I like the way the site's down due to people clawing over each other to get their mac code.

Ha!, was just about to post this.

Not sure what to do now. I could incorporate Sky Broadband with my Sky TV and hopefully reduce my overall monthly expenses.

Nothing wrong with Sky to be fair, I've been on the unlimited package at 7.50 per month for the last 2 years and had no issues at all.

Yep, I am entirely happy with the broadband service I've had from Sky over the years. I have nothing bad to say about them.

We do that and I must say that Sky have been great for us for broadband. They do have a LLU in our town though, so that might help.

I can't wait for fibre to get added here later in the year (allegedly) and may change to BT, but am tempted to stick with sky, since it has been fast and problem free for us for years.

The only issues we have had were when our line had to be replaced by BT, but it was handled fairly well by both parties.

Seems Sky offer a Fibre option. Doesn't look that cheap though :-/

I was considering Sky fibre as it seems reasonably priced if you're "all in" as it were, but I'd like to think we'll be moving house this year so it probably would be too much fuss.

19.99 from Plusnet. Apparently accurate to the mb, I would get 69mb down, 20mb up.

I'm with Sky for TV too, but I just don't fancy their broadband service.

I had sky for years, no complaints at all. Customer services were always top notch, I only changed because I moved house and virgin was already wired in. Leaving Sky though was a nightmare, like dumping a girlfriend. They tried everything I swear I could have got a nosh from some crying telesales dude if I tried. Then they got nasty and stung me for a load of money when they realised it was over.

What's plus net like now. Fibre 20 a week unlimited

Seen one article where the limited service has unlimited downloads between midnight and 8am. Do all services provide this?

I had a mate tell me to jump on to Plusnet. I think, at the time, a lot of word of mouth got a shed load of people on their service. About one month after getting on board they implemented their traffic shaping protocols and data limits. 15Gb combined upload and download for the month.

They went from cheap and decent to absolutely terrible overnight.

Hoping this Fibre service reaps decent rewards. The results on that survey link seem to point to them having improved.

So what's the choice now if you're after a non-Murdoch ISPs which doesn't traffic shape?

Funnily was due today to end my service with BE as I can now get fibre, but bloody BT just sent me a text wanting to delay activation by 2 more weeks.

I left BE for BT just last week for the infinity package.

BE were great while i was with them their customer service was always nothing short of brilliant. the only minus against them was the shitty thomson router they provided.

sad to see them get sold like this. SKY mave have improved but i orginally left them for BE because the SKY ADSL package was horrid - 0.95 down on weekends on an 8 down package.

Are there any UK ISPs left that aren't in the pocket of the BPI?

Add me to the 'sky broadband is great' list. Never had a problem with it, super fast good price.

Come listen to us discuss the Playstation Experience in Episode 11 of Open Source. zoolophage writes in!

Might be worth altering the title to include O2 as well since BE essentially provided O2's broadband.

Vastly better customer service than the likes of BT for sure, only Zen were better for me (and only just).
