BTW, I'm now in London, and left the girl I was seeing since last Aug.

Back dating again, but pretty busy. REALLY enjoyed what I've done so far, but I really never expected so many people from Europe to be amongst my matches and the people I'm spotting.

London is certainly a different world. Not what I expected at all, date-wise.

'Dated' two Czech women in the past month. Would never have expected that.

Fucking remoaning traitor. If you had any respect for the Will Of The People you'd ditch all your foreign woman and find yourself a decent, honest British woman like Kerry Katona, or something.

GotG2 is a good film and sitting in a dark room being quiet is just my kind of socialising.

Not sure if I'm making any progress but you can't beat the price!

Edit: The company was very pleasant, I didn't *completely* ignore them
    Edit2: I...ate...too...much...popcorn...urrgh

Nice one. Keep it up and eventually you'll be plummeting into the dark recesses of a ladies love canyon.

Did you force the women to stay for all 5 mid/post Credit scenes in Gotg?

Ok. So I'm a little rusty.

2 transvestites have taken an interest but it's not my bag.

Moved onto Sam's chop house if anyone knows it. Better clientele.

I was chatting on facebook with one of the ladies from the cinema meetup and she mentioned she was thinking about setting up her own meetup at a gig for a rock-covers band playing nearby on saturday as an attempt to draw people who are a bit younger than the usuals.

I responded by saying it was a great idea and this morning she created the event on meetup and of course I signed up, after all I did help persuade her it was a good idea.

Now all I have to do is not chicken out. I'm a world champion at chickening out though.

Sounds like you make her moist Garfy.

Start sending her phots of your mammoth appendage immediately. She'll be round for fire stick and dick before you know it.

I think you need perspective - what exactly are you chickening out on? Going to watch a band with a few people, that's all it is. You're not heading to a registry office to marry a stranger or anything.

If you're going to have a relationship (with anyone) you have to go to these things and let things develop naturally. Chickening out of this is akin to sabotaging your car on track test day. You never even made it to the race weekend.

@FuzzyDucky Don't underestimate the power of fear and laziness. I've wasted my life by being a cowardly sack of dead mice.

It just now occurred to me that I've never actually been anywhere to listen to live music before. At 41. Regrets, I've had a few... What's one more for the pile.

@Garfy You're 41 and never been to a gig before?! Just how lazy and fearful can one person be?!?! :) I guess taking up an instrument is out of the question?

Clichéd as it sounds, it really is about getting yourself out there. But getting yourself out there without expectations, just letting life happen. I post loads on a videogame forum - I know my share of laziness and fear, but also understand life WILL pass me by.

I'm not saying base jump off the Burj Khalifa, but honestly think of this - what will happen if you spend another weekend in front of a games console? And what might happen if you go out to the gig? If it's the former - fuck all. If it's the latter - also fuck all but you'll have a new experience and might form new bonds with new people... this will lead to more new experiences.

Saying "what's one more regret" is giving yourself permission to sit on your arse and feeding the situation energy. Turn that thought around - if you're predestined in having a regret, then why not go out and see what happens? If you have a shit night it won't matter as you thought you were going to regret it anyway! Your biggest regret will come in 40 years when you've played more games than the rest of the old folks home but have no life experience...

PS. as someone that's been to more gigs than had hot dinners, bring some sort of hearing protection! :)

Just find yourself a big girl in a caravan and get on with it Garfy. Seriously find yourself a horror show and chat him/her up whilst letting your diffidence shine through, do the deed and repeat until you have the confidence to go for someone you fancy.
