Just wanted to get people's opinion on the subject. Personally I don't think they do, but its always interesting to hear (or in this case read) what people have to say about it.

no. It's tabloid sensationalism. And people that are impressionable by computer games are just as likely to do something mental by watching a horror film

Its a backwards theory, the violent video games do not cause people to be violent, but people with violent dispositions will be drawn to violent video games.

The question suggests a very direct link, which I think makes the notion easy to dismiss.

The question is whether they are a contributing factor, and the answer is almost certainly yes.

One time I threw my glasses because I missed a big shot in an NBA game.

    This thread needs a questionnaire.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Wait a sec... only 2 posts from the OP and the very kind off question you'd expect for a thesis. It's a stealth questionnaire! Everybody abandon thread!

My dad is pushing 70 years old, and reads thrillers with very violent themes.

Violence permeates all forms of media within our culture, so if ideas are contagious, which I believe they are, then my answer would be maybe.

Do video games reinforce racial sterotypes more than any other form of entertainment?
