Apparently the elections in Italy have produced... interesting results:

Italy faces the prospect of a hung parliament

Though the centre-left seems to have emerged as the single largest bloc, the 5-star movement is the single largest party (in terms of votes).

An interview with its leader, Beppe Grillo.

Just can't keep a good dog down. Out of interest, why is Berlusconi so popular still?

Italian psychology. It’s a very patriarchal country so despite his many transgressions, so long as he looks “powerful” and dominant then people perceive him as a leader. You also have to consider the fact that he has many media interests – widely abused to pump up his image – and a lot of business interests, not to mention friends in the Italian justice system (which is notoriously corrupt). He has money, he’s seen as being manly and he constantly has this reinforced to the public.

Owning most of the media probably helped. Imagine if Blair had owned the BBC.

I hope he wins. Italy is far less hilarious without him in charge.

Grammatical and spelling mistakes aside stefansen is correct...

Berlusconi started making promises he couldn't keep but people still voted for him...

Most probable outcome is back to voting in a few weeks...
Less probable is a short term government to change the electoral law and then back to voting...
Improbable outcome is a centerleft/centerright coalition...
