    Was moving round some furniture today and accidentally knocked the brown cable out of the back of the box. Have reattached the brown lead to the back of the box, but now when the sky box is switched on I get the sky+ loading screen (black background) and then the box gives up and goes (I think) into standby mode.

    Anyone experienced anything similar and have any idea how to resolve? Thanks.

    You might have to call an engineer to lay a fresh brown cable for you.

    Try unplugging the box from the wall and reconnecting the cables and then switch the box back on. Is the brown cable a standard coaxial aerial cable? Or is this cable connected to your satellite dish? If so you may have either moved the dish or disconnected the cable attached to the dish.

    I have a sky + hd box (if that's what you meant via specs)...  I'll give the leads thing a go..  It's a communal dish so can't have moved that.  Thanks for the help guys.

    Hey guys.

    If you book a live event on Sky box office (the boxing for example) will it work on a sky go account?

    I am very confused. Recently cancelled Sky, so thought about trying to renew my old Sky Mobile sub through the new Sky Sports TV app on the iPad. For some reason it refused to recognise a previous sub and I thought nothing of it. Saw the iPad still had the old Mobile TV app installed so opened it, and lo and behold, it works. Automatically logged me in, Sky Sports 1-4. For free. Checked the subs online, haven't paid a sub since June 2011 and they have an old card number. Not going to complain....

    @Dougs

    The old card number makes no difference as far as your bank are concerned (as I know from experience with an old cancelled ADSL that had charges 18months later). Sky financial auditors have a couple of years(2years from now iirc) in which to legitimately bill your old card for what you are using now, unless you could prove you cancelled the service on the mobile and that subscribing isn't restarted by using the service and/or maybe proving you were unaware it was a subscription service you were still using.

    could you not get the app running on a computer and output the video signal to your tv so you can watch it on big screen or is it ipad only?

    Nah, ipad only. It's an old app not on iTunes anymore, I just had it backed up from tears ago. More amazed that it still works, for free than anything! So not really a problem, just cba finding another thread!

    Sky are calling me repeatedly to subscribe again though, latest offer is 50% off TV and Sports. If they can do me a similar deal on broadband then I'll probably renew anyway.
