    @binky

I don't know whether you can share an SD card between WiiU and 3ds. I would say not as the only option I've seen on both games is wireless transferring.

Maybe with both hardware teams moving to the same offices we'll have greater cohesion between the two systems?

It's unlimited ammo. You don't need to carry anything.

Had my first real go of the full game this evening. Takes a bit of getting used to the controls but I think I like it. It will ultimately be down to how patient I am I reckon.

Tried the save transfer to 3DS as well and it worked quickly with no fuss what so ever. Very cool.

Is the circle pad pro pretty much essential for this chaps?

It's perfectly playable for me for the most part with a standard controller and tapping L to centre the camera on land (as I've always played the PSP versions) but I can imagine it makes the underwater sections far more tolerable. My CPP should be turning up today; ordered from ShopTo yesterday.

Seemed fine for me without the CPP last night, but to be fair I was only mooching around and never got into a battle.

I am really impressed with the Wii U to 3DS transfer stuff though. The thought of being able to carry on my game from last night on the TV a bit later on because the 3DS is in my bag, is a genius move.

I just hope I can get my head around the game!!

@binky This is what you need:
    http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:MH3U

It has the complete combination table for making items. Tables for weapons and armour etc etc.

Not as nice as I used to be

Maybe it's because I played it for a good chunk of hours on Wii U first, but when I played it on 3DS I really did need the CPP (whereas for KH3D the second circle pad went pretty much unused).

Thanks for the site Alastair! Much easier to use than the guide book.

Does the CPP act like a traditional camera control stick in Kingdom Hearts then?

Yeah it works as a camera too in KH3D, but the camera in that needed less precision/auto-targetting. The extra buttons were much more useful. MH3U's weird lock-on makes it quite a bit harder to keep track, though again, I played on twin stick first so it's what I'm used to.

I used that wiki site for MH3 on Wii loads and loads.
Constantly checking options for weapons and armour progression. Plus when it comes to taking on the bigger monsters it's worth checking what elemental power they have and are vulnerable too and tailoring your weapon and armour choice.

Two examples - (spoilered just in case...)
Poison - You may wish to craft some poison resistant armour to face Gigginox, and you can craft weapons with poison built in to them.
Egg carrying - there is a particular armour set that makes it much easier to complete the egg fetching quests. It either allows you to run faster or to drop down from ledges without dropping the egg (I can't remember which.

Not as nice as I used to be

The transfer system between the 3DS & WiiU works flawlessly, Takes about 40 secs to transfer data over from 1 to another. Great feature.

Any other Bow users here? I'm looking for some tips. At the minute i'm pretty much using all my exhuast arrows, followed by all my power arrows and if i'm fighting in a tight spot, i'll equip my close range arrows and use them.

Normally i'm out of special arrows long before the battle is over, but I just want to make sure i'm doing things right. I have no idea how strong an effect the exhaust arrows have, and i've not yet got a bow that uses poison/sleep arrows, so am yet to try those out.

The long range weapons all have put me off so far. The quicker swords seem to be more for moi.

Would anyone fancy an online hook up next week? I'd like to give that a whirl before getting overwhelmed and I worry if that happens I might let it all just slip away...

Will probably be after 9pm UK time, whatever day it is. Maybe could aim for Wednesday or Thursday night this week? Please keep in mind that I have no idea what I'm doing as I'm new to the entire series!

I played through the demo again at the weekend. Went for switch axe and liked it.

A parcel came from Amazon for the missus on Friday - I'm hoping it's my Father's Day present.... ;)

Wednesday can work for me. After 9 is fine as I don't finish work until 8.

Don't worry about being new, I'm still really wet behind the ears. I tried joining a game with random a few weeks back and I couldn't find anyone as green as me.

I had real problems experimenting with the switch axe. Yet I watch YouTube videos and I see such awesome combos :-(

I'm predominantly sword & shield / longsword / lance. I tried using the bow on Unite on the PSP but it's a real struggle to solo with. A shame as bows in games are the best weapons ever ;-)

Heh! I think I briefly tried the bow in MHTri, but failed to kill a Jaggi!!

I was mainly a lance user in Tri, with a bit of hammer and S&S at the beginning. Started experimenting with the SA at the end. I think with Ultimate (when I get it) I'd like to try to have a broader range of weapon skills.

Not as nice as I used to be

Im using Gunlance (love that shield up upwards stab) and am heavily farming Jaggi's for a full armour set before moving deeper into two star quests.

I have no idea how anyone can play this on 3DS without the circle pad. Camera is a nightmare without it.

I love the bow. It's just it doesn't seem strong enough for quests with 2 or more monsters. :/

I am trying to upgrade it, but most of the materials I need i've yet to encounter.

How do you gift stuff between two players? Do you have to be in-mission or can you do it in the hubs?
