Chaps, for those of you that have completed at least once, what sort of gametime are we talking.
    Thank you

For me it was 18hrs of goodness.  That first boss though had me stumped for a while though.

Game of 2013 easy better than bioshock

It's a substantial chunk and you will definitely want to replay some of the levels to get extra goodies and find the Boo's.

Unfortunately I was fully maxed out in upgrade terms before finishing the 2nd Mansion but its still great fun to replay some of the levels. I'd say I put in about 18 hours as well.

Amazing how different the same mansion can be from one level to the next. It's my joint favourite 3DS game at the moment with Mario 3D land. Fire Emblem may yet join that illustrious company too.

Just started playing this tonight (thanks to a massively generous forumite) and it's been great so far. I've yet to play the original, but I can understand now why it's achieved 'cult classic' status. This one is full of charm.

Think i'm on the last mission now. Really has been a joy to play. In every level there something that makes me smile. The amount of small things you can play and interact with me is just staggering. Rarely has a game utlised general background objects so well. (Just played with a toy plane that i blew around the room to get me coins .

Next level games have done a great job. i wonder how much input nintendo had, and i wonder how much NLG have learnt from making this.

FFS. Got killed by the three sisters on the second mansion and just discovered that you have to do the whole mission again. I will go back to it because its a great game but I'm having a damn good sulk with it first. Harumph.

Yeah, I'm in the same sulk but much earlier with the Boo boss. Sucky. Otherwise a lovely game in every regard.

Really enjoying this, but fuck me my hands cramp badly after an hours play. Nintendo really should not be creating any hardware.

And I was wrong, the music / sound effects are growing on me. Such a lovely game.

Finished the main game last night, a great game overall with only a few frustrations(The ice boss was particularly shitty ).

Now time to mop up the Boos and gems to get at those secret levels!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

Did I miss a step of the tutorial? I'm only just starting but I don't quite grasp how you capture the ghosts. I hold onto the R button to vacuum them up and then run after them a bit, inevitably fall over and try again - losing health every time.

Am I not supposed to chase them? Are you supposed to pull in the other direction?

Yea, opposite direction. The ghosts are relatively easy to capture one on one, so there shouldn't be any issue now that you know

Started playing this last night. What a lovely game! The level of incidental character detail is wonderful. Hearing Luigi hum along to the music makes me smile every time :D

Looking forward to getting stuck in to this.

Picked this up at the weekend. Wasn't expecting much, but my god it's glorious!

Luigi has been infused with so much character. The animation tells his story beautifully!

Downloaded this along with Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and Donkey Kong over the past few weeks. The 3DS is truly knocking it out of the park at the moment!

Yeah, Han.. I mean 3DS is sooo hot right now!

Love Luigi's Mansion 2. Everything about it just so much fun. I particularly think the sound is worth mentioning because every little rattle, bump, shriek, etc. is just perfectly done and complements the game so well. Awesome game!

Well, this is one pretty looking game!

... went on a playing spree over the weekend and am up to the 'Pit of Ice' boss.

Did they actually play test that boss?

Absolutely crap that was. A real sour note to end my playtime and is the reason why I have yet to go back to Luigi's spooky adventure.

    : (

p.s. The Dual Scream line is great.

This will be my next purchase on my 2DS. Along with Wind Waker & Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion was my favourite game on the Gamecube!

Eternal Darkness is quietly crying in the corner for stating that!

    (Though I enjoyed LM1 a lot too :-) )

@Gunzberg Honestly, I never played it. I owned it but I didn't have any interest in my young naive days.

Pff Metroid Prime wants a word with both of you.

Anyway on topic, LM2 is probably my favorite 3DS game. Sure Mario kart, fire emblem and co are all fine games but I don't find myself on a train playing them for the whole journey. But as I have a vita I regularly forget to charge my 3DS.

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

Never been a fan of Metroid. I don't know how to put it in to words why, but something like the back tracking and atmosphere I found boring. Not a knock on the games, sure they're great, just not for me.

Along with Animal Crossing & Pokemon, Luigi was one of the reasons I bought a 2DS. Counting the days till payday to get it.

For what it's worth, Luigi's Mansion 2 does have quite a Metroid vibe about it. It's just the underground is swapped out for a Mansion, or five.

Blimey! This is a bit good isn't it? I picked it up as part the Tesco deal. Probably the best looking 3DS game I've played so far. Only just started it but wow!

I found this quite disappointing compared to the first. Too many annoying bits (like chasing the damn dog) and the ghosts themselves have no personality. The bosses were also pretty boring for the most part.

Still a fun game in places but I can't quite understand the universal praise.
