    I need help

Firstly only 30 goes is crummy and at 20 mins a pop, but how the hell do you kill that first monster, I can get him to limping, then he runs away and seems to get all his health back

@Jyan91 I watched your clip and the memories came flooding back.
That first monster looked like a giant angry rabbit!

Not as nice as I used to be

This game is fun! Prefer the Wii U version for the full camera control, but the 3D is great. I tried out the Lance guy on my second play, but found I wasn't getting nearly as many hits in. Was playing the harder demo too.

He won't have regained any health unless he went off to sleep, and even that's a very slow regeneration. If a monster limps when fleeing to another area, it's almost dead.

Isn't it just an upgraded Wii game?

I pinned all my hopes on this hence not selling the console yet but the demo put me off. The framerate is 20 according to my capture card and damn does it feel like it! The textures are horrible on characters and the ground and environments. The aiming is slow and clunky. This is worse looking and slower playing than phantasy star online 1 for the dreamcast. Totally awful example of a Wii U game........so what's next now we have no rayman and this is shite?

@bemaniac 20fps? It's perfectly fine for me. Nice and smooth. The textures are ok, but this is just an upscaling of a Wii game, rushed to make the most of a now slow launch. What were you expecting?

If you want fast-paced gameplay then try the sword and shield or dual blades. Longsword is also pretty nimble and a good choice for newcomers.

I'm finding the bow to be quite bazzare. I had a near trouble free 20 minutes and still failed to take down the Lagombi. I was using the double charged shots whenever I could, but it wasn't enough. Are some weapons better suited to co-op play, rather than single player?

I loved using the long sword and the blades. I quite enjoyed the hammer too. The two lances are alright, but it seems near-impossible to dodge those snowballs without some luck. I couldn't even get close to the hard monster with the lance, once it had gone under water.

I'm also finding the bows/gun type of weapons /really/ hard to use. The controls seem ass backwards to me. Absolutely love all the melee classes, but would love to get to grips with a ranged weapon. Any tips?

I'll be getting it on our close to launch. I've already spent a lot of time with this and the 3DS demo.

My problem with the gameplay may be that I was using all the ranged weapons. I'll try swords. It does run at 20fps average though it's up and down like a yoyo @ 1080p over hdmi from 14-25fps.

Make sure you're not standing too close or too far with the bow, otherwise your arrows will be a lot weaker.

Are you using the coatings? You can inflict poison, paralysis and sleep (wake him with your barrel bombs) with these, but more importantly increase your shot damage with the power ones.

Anyone got a reference to button use on WiiU? Complete lack of any instruction in the demo is pretty awful. It's gone from a must buy to probably won't simply because I don't know what I'm doing or how to do it. It may be a great game, but it's a terribly judged demo.

If you press the home button there is an instruction manual.
The demo is good but it definitely misses the learning that comes with the full game, part of the fun is starting with the smaller monsters and learning how to control the different classes. It's hard to jump in with the good equipment if you haven't had the practice.

@midi82 Ahhhh ... I see. They could have done with pointing that out given they didn't put anything else in the demo tutorial wise. Going to give it another go tonight.

The electronic manuals exist for all games and demos, but if you don't know about it, you're not going to be looking for it.
