Mario Kart type games on the 360?

    I've got a real urge to play something like Mario Kart at the moment but have no clue what kind of games there are that are similar.

    Had a brief look at Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed and that looks quite good. Anybody played this?

    But yeah, what are the best games of this type? I need my fix!

    Sonic Transformed is a Mario Kart beater IMO. Certainly better than the most recent Wii and 3DS disappointments.

    Blur, Sonic All Stars and Split-second are pretty much the only ones worth playing.

    - Sonic Racing Transformed
    - Blur
    - Sonic Racing
    - Split Second
    - F1 Race Stars

    If you don't give a shit about quality

    - Madagascar Karts
    - Ben 10 Galactic Racing
    - Joy Ride Turbo

    XBLA has Joyride Turbo, which is surprisingly decent and quite cheap. It does feature avatars, though.

    @pinebear Not yet. Waiting to see what you guys suggest. But it does seem to be a bit of a winner at the mo. Blur is also appealing as it has my hometown in it.

    Sonic is awful. MADAGASCAR KARTZ is the best karting game on the 360.

    Anyway, you need look no further than the two Sonic Racing games. The second is IMO less of a typical cart racer and more like an arcade racer of old. Both are great though. It especially helps if you're a fanboy of Sega of old too as there are loads of nods to their past and present franchises.

    Yeah, into my Sega so that's another plus. Is there a demo? Although it's sounding like it's gonna be good enough to buy straight away.

    So last week I managed to finally get hold of Sonic Racing Transformed from HMV for £8. Damn this game is good!

    I was put off by the price before but now i wish I had just got it as it's totally worth it. Already about 15 hours or so in, maybe more and still loving it.

    Sonic Racing Transformed is awesome, and you won't get any buyer's remorse.

    I'll also throw in an out-of-the-box suggestion: Hydrothunder Hurricane, on XBLA. It's like a kart game, in the water. Water karting. Warting, I'm going to call it.

    I think you forgot Cars 2: The Video Game

    You also have cars , duh ...
    But Cars 2 is better
