Still utterly glued to this (sorry Bioshock Infinite). Was happy to finally discover a shotgun sight that gives a bonus without zooming into a full sights view. Wish they had something similar for the other weapons.

Still got a bloody grenade permanently trapped in my loadout. It's locked to my second loadout, but I can change the first and third. Got plenty of inventory space but it's bugging me a bit.

Loving the co-op stuff, great to see randoms working well together. The competitive skirmishes really are a cheap mess of invisible shotguns or grenade launchers spammers, sadly. Still yet to try a working Shadow War (or whatever it's called).

Need better loot though; fuck those random lockboxes. They're just cruel.

Haha I've had infinite from love film just sitting on my coffee table for weeks. I haven't even opened the envelope!

    :)

same here, although I actually played a couple of hours of infinite at the weekend (because the defiance servers went down for an update). It's quite fun, but I still spent the rest of the weekend playing defiance instead...

Ah, that explains the hellbug I just met!

Discovered a real pain in the arse bug (of another kind): frequently having to reload three or four times before it takes. Worst of all, I reloaded my shotgun in a fire fight. Instead of pumping it, my character continued the reload animation... and then took every single shell out again. FFS!

I see that some of the stuff is going cheaper in the Defiance Store (costumes, etc). Do they run sales on this stuff then?

And does anyone have any tips for the rampage side quests? I'm getting repeatedly creamed on some of them. No idea how these top scores are possible.

You must have the damage indicator! It's the law for all games.

Had a break from this, will be back on over weekend, unless weather stays glorious. Co-op ahoy!

After the PS3 patch it's a hell of a lot harder to acquire keys and also in general the ark falls are tougher. No more farming but still the only game I want to play at the mo.

The elemental hellbugs are quite fun.

I'm having to grind online kills to rank up echelon just now. I wish they would fix it a bit.

Seriously, fuck the PVP in this. Co-op, happily, is a joy though.

Exactly the same for me; I'm familiar with everyone else. (Which sounds really wrong, frankly.)

I just dipped into this for the first time in a week or so and it's massively still fun, even for a quick hour burst for a few side missions.

It probably helps that now it's been out for a little while players are spread all over the place doing random things, as I've been hopping in and out of emergencies and missions with others a lot more than before which is nice.

I've only got 4 or 5 main story missions to go so I should probably get those polished off at some point...

I've still got acts 3-5 to finish, but have unfortunately got involved with dragon's dogma instead.

Serves me right for firing it up for just a 'quick look' a week ago.

I think this game will be one I dip back into fairly regularly for a fair while though. It's just such fun to tool about on helping folk out and finding the emergencies etc. plus co-op is a blast.

Entirely new to MMO's and I've only just done my first Arkfall, but despite this and all the rough edges, I'm absolutely loving this game.

The combat is average, the animation could be better and the other players tend to lag, but again there's something addictive about it all and I do feel like a scavenger searching around an unknown landscape.

A moment earlier, I stumbled across a small mutant camp battling a small bunch of bugs and proceeded to lay waste to them all. After I thought I'd taken them all out, a massive bug appeared that I hadn't seen before just as another 8 players arrived at the scene to help me out, top stuff!

Obviously to PC gamers this is probably old news, but for an unwashed console only gamer, it felt like an entirely new experience and I'm loving it despite the menus frightening the life out of me!

    Looks like trouble ahead.

Layoffs have hit Trion Worlds. IGN sources suggest that well over half the company has been let go, with some suggesting numbers as high as 80%.

The San Diego studio -- where development of MMO Defiance took place -- is said to have been hit the hardest. A source suggests that employees are being escorted out of the building and that senior leaders from various Trion teams may not receive severance due to "undelivered services."

That's a real shame if true, and if previous similar rumour on other companies are anything to go by there'll be at least some truth to it. I thought Defiance was doing fairly well too. Still well into the charts and always seems to be plenty of players about.

We even had a good TV show tie-in this week. Don't want to spoil it of course, but I'd watch this weeks show first before playing the mission. Much like the first one, it's not essential to do both, but it enhances them :)

Seems like business as usual to me (although I do hope those numbers are exaggerated), take on loads of people to make the game then reduce numbers shortly after release. I'd imagine they're trying trim the wage bill of the staff left maintaining the game so that they actually see some profit - would be interesting to see how much they're actually making on bits purchases each month.

That is kind of weird Trion Worlds channel on Twitch TV have two dev's playing Defiance and talking about the future.

I did not want to say anything in chat. All a bit strange, lets hope the source is false obviously.

Apparently IGN exaggerated those numbers and apparently its not uncommon for staff layoffs after a game is released, but I admit it doesn't sound great. It is very strange though, it seems like Defiance is doing alright, by no means a failure, and Rift is probably going to be resurrected by going F2P. I guess its just a big transitional period for the company.

Oooh - final boss was an utter bastard (of Conan proportions). Make sure you have a BMG handy, maybe a decent grenade launcher too.

Still loving it, but that was some cheap shit, right there.

That's one of the ever present battles on the official forums, with threads daily. Going by those threads, they should NERF THE BOSS, KEEP IT THE SAME DON'T LISTEN TO THE NOOBS, and MAKE IT HARDER BECAUSE IT'S TOO EASY. General consensus is he's extremely cheap, but as with all MMOs they're damned if they de-cheapen it and damned if they leave it :p

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

Big update at the moment. All kinds of loveliness going in, apparently. Including fixing the fecking sniper rifle scopes.

Really keen for the DLC and some charged weapons now. Just passed EGO level 1000. Won't unlock another perk space until 2000!

Christ, this is just so compulsive. :)

Just in case I was the only tool who hadn't done this from the start, the damage indicators really made sense of a lot of my weapon work. Never turning it off now.
