Dawkins is a master cunt, I love the beautiful irony of his fanatical followers behaving like any indoctrinated religious group.

Kind of like the indoctrinated followers of a certain consumer electronics brand.

Yep, can't say I've ever seen/heard/read Dawkins being a quote "cunt" at all. Ever.
  • Deleted user 17 February 2013 09:11:11
He sounded like a snide arrogant cunt. Like he often does.

Dawkins is his own worst enemy. What he says is usually on the money but he always has to say it like a smug twat meaning the content gets diluted because people think "I'm not listening to that smug twat".

Bah. He goes after religion and is unapologetic about doing so. Dawkins could perhaps best be described as a militant atheist. ;)

Would you feel the same way listening to him rip into someone for believing in Zeus? I find it quite satisfying watching him tear religion apart.
  • Deleted user 17 February 2013 09:23:12
Nah, he's just a cunt. Doesn't matter what platform you are debating from. If you are doing it like a cunt then you are a cunt.

Sam Harris has made a career going after Islam. I think Dawkins thinks people treat religion with kid gloves period and that's why he is rather forthright in dishing out his particular brand of ridicule. :)

People are too kind on religion, especially in public. Not that I have the energy or care enough to go after them as he does.
  • Deleted user 17 February 2013 09:54:30
Yeah it sucks when people are respectful of others.

It's bollocks that people respect the religion. If you did then you wold believe in it. But one can be respectful of someone's right to be different.

The media is always quick to highlight and ridicule the idiocy of Christianity (and rightly so) but let's be honest here - Islam is often treated with kidgloves. It's laughably referred to as the religion of peace where if you read the scriptures you'll see it's easily the most violent of the big three.

    /atheist rant over.

Why can't you respect someone's religion? It certainly doesn't mean you have to believe in it.

How can you respect the religion if you think it is false?

You can respect the importance and meaning someone places in their faith.

    Is this a serious question?

This is some warrior monk level autism right here.

Yes, shame you can't understand it. I think you are confusing respecting someone as an individual who can have their own beliefs, with the belief itself.
