Every girl I ever kissed I was thinking of a pro footballer.

I'm not really sure how people find this uninteresting.

Food. You put it in your body.

Being mis-sold, with a lack of attention to where it came from.

    IT GOES IN YOU.

@Deckard1 I would be forced to describe the taste of an apple as 'Fruity'
It's hard to describe it any other way without getting all purple prose...

He lifted the shiny red smoothness of apple towards his mouth. His tastebuds could already sense the freshness of the clean juicy fruit.
He bit. Juice flowed. He could only describe the taste as "Fruity!"
Sadly he had forgotten to wash off the deadly chemical preservatives and pesticides that had been used to ensure the smooth constant redness weeks after being picked and he died soon after...

The thing which surprises me though... surely horses, in general, are more expensive than cows?
Was listening to someone talking on this and in some horse markets you can buy a horse for a tenner, walk it down the road and get double that at an abattoir. As someone has said, these aren't racers or top of their game, a mix of pets that can no longer be looked after and old horses that are no longer wanted.

Well someone's clearly on the books for umbongo. What's your commission rate?

Also I'd been thinking of emailing them with a new flavour suggestion:

    'Fruity apple'

    I reckon it's a winner.

What I don't get, is that does horsemeat taste EXACTLY like beef? It has to, if not one single person ever said, "Hmm, this burger/lasagne/whatever tastes weird."

    Get bent.

Aware it's not a health issue but a labelling issue.

    http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/fmcg/fresh/meat/fsa-sanctions-1-dna-tolerance-level-in-meat/236317.article

I find it quite shocking that throughout all of this testing, up to 1% horsemeat is being overlooked and allowed as it's likely to happen from contamination.

So surely food labelling should have to state 100% beef* *may contain up to 1% trace of horse dna. Nice eh?

When these companies are coming out in the all clear, all they're really doing is saying, we're 99% beef! The other 1%, we're not too worried about. Almost all of these product tests will show some trace of horse dna.

You're assuming that low quality meat isn't treated with flavourings/fat to make it taste more meaty and less 'relatively tasteless straggly bits scraped off of bones by a machine.'

Oh no, of course, but the actual base meat should surely affect the taste? I mean, that's the difference between cottage pie and shepherd's pie, right?

I assume you can taste the difference there, I don't really have them so I'm not too sure.

    Get bent.

If the base 'meat' is lean scrapings, you probably can't tell the difference. Most of meat's flavour is in the fat and if it's heavily processed the odds are you're losing even more of what flavour it had when it's rinsed, bathed in fuck knows what, re-textured, plumped up etc.

All in all, heavily processed meat isn't something any of us should be eating, ever. This horsemeat thing is just one more reason to add to the already mighty pile of reasons.

There was an unscientific test on Food Inspectors.

They made a cheapo burger with beef, and a cheapo burger with added horse and couldn't taste the horse.
