Rick Edwards did say he was going to find out.... what really happened.

At which point I switched off.

So it turns out his girlfriend was having dinner with her ex the night of the shooting.

And he has a history of jealous outbursts/attacks, hmmmm I can't figure this one out.

    /rolls eyes

this is shaping up to be an OJ.

And he has a history of threatening people with leg breakages. Well, one person anyway. Oh and drink driving. Oh and shooting his gun in restaurants (probably). And other weird shit.
Although he does also appear to have a history of paranoia about security.

Saying he's thinking about competing in the World Championships now. He seems to be getting over the whole "accidentally killed the woman he loves" thing fairly well.

You're right, a month is more than enough time to come to terms with the fact that you splattered your girlfriend all over the bathroom.

I splattered all over my girlfriend in the bathroom last month.

I lied. It was my wife.

After a brief hearing in Pretoria, the magistrate agreed to a request from the prosecution to postpone the hearing until August.

You're probably right Deckard, I bet he will get away with it. As Ka-blamo says, this is going to be an OJ style trial when it happens, where he'll probably literally get away with murder, but the court of public opinion will probably ensure he has a miserable existence either way.

Bailed and able to leave the country to compete?

    Tough life.

Being free to fly to other countries to compete in a competition strikes me as the sort of thing you should only really be allowed to do if you don't kill people. Have I missed something and he might not have actually done the shooting itself? I was under the impression the question was whether Oscar shot her on purpose knowing it was her, or whether he really did believe she was an intruder, who I assume called back with a great impression of his girlfriend when he shouted a warning to the person in the Bathroom.

I've not really been following the story though, I've probably missed lots.
