There was a comment that made me laugh on the front page the other day when some guy called the 720 a 'multimedia whorehouse'.

on what little we know, and the buzz from that, the next PS seems genuinely more exciting.
the faster RAM, tighter gaming focus, and historically, the more interesting exclusives.

@anthonypappa - Do you not think that having a 'tighter gaming focus' limits what the console can do?
bumyoghurt wrote:Erm, do you know why most exclusives are exclusive to a particular platform? Logic fail on your part there, methinks.
Personally, I can't think of one exclusive game that I have wanted to play. For me, if a game is exclusive to one console it can't be very good.

bumyoghurt wrote:Yes, but you'll inevitably end up paying extra for those other things that you may not care for (say, a console that plays Blu-rays for example), or there'll be compromises in the gaming abilities of the platform (Like an iPhone).
@King_Edward - Or you could have a console that can play games and do a load of other stuff.

bumyoghurt wrote:ps3 already has a rake of multimedia features - blu-ray, online games, films, music, internet broswer etc... they aren't limiting themselves, ps4 will have all that, and likely more - they just aren't installing a massive windows OS on it, and all the built in kinect 2.0 gash.
And it will still have the same games as the Xbox, so why do Sony not embrace the other features rather than limiting themselves?

Sorry, but that's clearly not true. I am trying to get to the bottom of why people seem to be so scared of embracing change in the new generation. Only a few neckbeards really care about exclusive games- the best games come out on all consoles- so embrace the future.
bumyoghurt wrote:It's not about fear. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all own in -house developers. Uncharted, Halo, and Mario aren't exclusives because they lack quality, but because they were specifically designed as selling points for the consoles they're on.
@FuzzyDuck - Those people are idiots then, no game is bigger than a console. Exclusive games are overhyped fanboy nonsense. As I said, if they were any good then developers wouldn't be too scared to release them multiplatform.
