Looking for some new music to listen to so thought i'd start this thread! So EG'ers who are you currently listening to who is amazing that no one else has heard of? I'll start, Catherine Feeny is an amazing American folk singer who had a couple of hits in 2005 and then disappeared. Her new album is about the occupy wall street movement (i think it was written whilst she was protesting with them) and it is awesome! You can listen for free here http://catherinefeeny.bandcamp.com/

I heard a guy called Joe Banfi on Radio 1 (Rob Da Bank), he was amazing. The song was called Nomads, but I haven't found it elsewhere yet (YouTube etc).

Kind of like Ben Howard meets a soundscape.

I'm unheard of, but probably not underrated.

Does having written one and a bit songs count as being an artist? :p

On a more serious note, I've recently discovered Volbeat and can't recommend them enough if you even remotely like rock music. I don't think they're particularly unheard of though

Shawn Smith is a singer songwriter and player of all instruments from Seattle and has been making albums for 20 years now, yet most people haven't heard of him. http://shawnsmith.bandcamp.com/ A link to all his solo studio stuff. He's been in Brad (with Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam), Satchel, Pigeonhed, All Hail the Crown, The Twilight Singers and others :) Saw him live and spoke to him too back in 2008, an alright bloke :)
