Saw him at the Apollo yesterday. Did his rendition of Space Oddity and a Q&A, both with Mr Cox. Very cool.

Is that the NASA guy? He was on the BBC news the other day and did a live rendition of Space Oddity, which was cool.

Hah, it is a shame they don't have better names. Stratocaster etc, is just so much grander. I quite like Takamine's, they have a nice feel. Good luck with it.

At work we had a Taylor Electro/acoustic come in, had been found by someone, a guy who is quite prolific came in and had a play on it was knocking out AC/DC, Scorpions, Van halen etc.

The guy was saying he generally dislikes acoustics, but this was great, went away looked it up online was worth between 3.5 - 4.5K.

Went to every effort to trace an owner to no avail, the finder claimed it.

No idea if they knew how much it was worth, but lucky lucky bastard

@darkmorgado You can opt to become VAT-registered at any point but you have to do it over a certain threshold of turnover (60k?). When I did it you could back-claim for 3 years of purchases and 6 months of services. Not sure what the rules are now, but keep all receipts.

It does mean that you have to charge VAT, which can be a problem if your clients are not VAT registered, because you need to stick 20% on top of your prices for the government.
Also remember to save the VAT so you can pay it when the quarter is up.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Yeah, I'm keeping all receipts (I need to anyway for when it comes to putting things through as expenses for the taxman).

It looks like I misremembered the advice I'd been given btw - I looked back over my written notes and I've clearly written down there that there's a revenue threshold for VAT. I haven't got the amount written down though.

    Cheers for the advice.

You can VAT register at any point, turnover is irrelevant for voluntary registration.

If your trading is below the threshold for registration

If you're carrying out one or more of the business activities described above but you haven't crossed the registration threshold, you can still apply to register for VAT voluntarily - it might be of benefit to you. See the section in this guide on voluntary registration. In any case, you should regularly check your turnover to see if you need to register.

School boy error, the far cubicle is the most favoured, therefore gets the most bum action and the most bad aids/super crabs.

Also upon entering the moaner will have travelled down to the far cubicle and having seen it was occupied been forced by the rules of toilet etiquette to not backtrack too far, thus taking the number four cubicle for his number two.

The disabled bog in our work has been nick named "The Tropicana" as it's spacious, clean and generally a lot nicer than the other bogs.

Especially since the normal toilets often have bogies wiped on the walls, wet floors (especially around the toilet itself - ew) and other horrors.

If im ever out by myself with my daughter and she needs to go, i always aim for the diabled toilet to A) protect her from the sheer horror of mens toilets and B) so I dont have to hang around the cubicles like someone looking for business.
