This has been on the cards for quite some time. But yes, kiss my face.

    Why?

Armando Iannucci has proven himself more than capable of making a good TV to Film adaptation.

I just think it will be the typical Borat/Mr. Bean/Porridge (go back as far as you like) over-stretching of material and resulting impact-dilution.

Probably true but more of Partridge can't be a bad thing. SMELL MY CHEESE!

But Alan is a better realised and better defined character than likes of the one dimensional bean or borat. Not to mention the people involved are more than capable of making this work.

I don't have any reason to doubt this. Mid morning matters proved there was plenty of mileage in the character yet.

Feel like I must end every comment in this thread with a quote...

"woke up this morning and my pillow looked like a flapjack"

This will be easily as good as The Spy Who Loved Me.

    Thread title needs changing.

Film title needs changing too. I like Alpha Papa, but there must be better titles.

Is there some kind of siege? Partridge Hard, or maybe Partridge Day Afternoon? Sidekick Simon strikers me as one with a penchant for drag. And Alan does like ladyboys.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Burns. I had to look it up. Dustin, to his mates, apparently. Good spot, couldn't place it, only saw a few episodes of Cardinal Burns.

Partridge always did pull in good new comedy actors. You don't say no to that call I guess. I wonder who else is in?

The new Empire has a big feature on Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. Sounds superb, but the best 'reveal' from the article is that Michael is the new security guard at North Norfolk Digital and that we will finally get to see him put his Army training to the test...

Also, can a mod edit the thread title please?

yeah i realised that would be an unpopular comment.

I think its because i spent my formative years in a foreign country. The whole partridge phase passed me by.

I'm much more a fan of things like Red Dwarf and Blackadder
