Registered 11 years agoI've run into it a couple of times, but more along the lines of people believing that it was a male pretending to be a female, or a female on the mic, but a man must be behind the controls (especially if they're getting spanked).
There is a particular type of guy out there that for some reason wants his favourite things to be 'men only'. You know the sort - they like comedy, so declare that women 'aren't funny'. Substitute comedy for COD, or maths, or driving, or whatever. For these people, any evidence of female participation that excels at the-thing-they-like must be a lie, or a put up job of some sort.
It's bizarre.-- boobs do nothing for me, I want moustaches and chest hair.

Registered 7 years agoNever actually seen a fake gamer girl. Married to the woman I used to have tense Soul Calibur matches with before we even dated (I'm a Mitsurugi player, she's been Seong Mina since Soul Edge), have a friend with far more games played and a similar k/d in Halo 4, and an old friends of ours was a massive Nintendo fan who was nigh impossible to beat in Mario Kart. Never met anyone faking it.

Let's face it a lot of male gamers are not going to be alpha males and so the last thing some of them might have to cling to in defence of their machismo is at least I am better than a girl. Take that away from them and where are they going to get their sense of superiority from? I have no doubt that most males who give females a hard time on-line are going to be of the rather down trodden by life variety. -

The girls aren't saying they are gamers to get in your pants, they are saying it to make you want to get in their pants. I really don't need a bird to be a gamer for that.
