Need advice on how to do something in Word (2010)

    Sorry if this isn't the right forum, but i couldn't find another forum that fit.

    I downloaded a CV template in Word format, but i need to make another grey text box (?), like the one here, where it says references:


    But i don't know how to make one. It has to be exactly the same as the references one. Can anyone help? It'd help to even be told what that 'box' is officially called, so i could google it.

    Can't you just select it, copy/paste it then modify the text? Seems the easiest way.

    Though all the box is is a one-cell table with a background colour.

    You could try turning on the non-printing characters..



    ..and post the same screenie so that we can see what what's going on there. Assuming you cannot do what meme suggested.

    I could tell you how to do that in LibreOffice, but it's probably not what you want.

    Or..

    Open up the 'extras' menu and select the 'grey box utilities' option. From there, select 'examine box' and press F13 to copy, F14 to paste.

    It is the one cell table though. I just did it and it looks absolutely identical.

    Ok i tried to just insert a table, but even the one cell table is thicker than the ones on the temple, wtf!
    I don't know how to slim it down.

    Tables & Borders (4 mini squares with a pencil icon) > Outside Border > Fill colour Grey -25%
