@Popzeus - I feel the same. I'm disappointed already and nothing has been announced!
I think I'm more interested in the discussion. Hopefully one of them will offer more than upgraded visuals.

Registered 7 years agoI would be surprised if it came in over £300, to be honest. All the technology that is going into it is mature and surely there is someone at sony with the brain cells to realise this is going to be the most price sensitive console they have ever released.---------------------------------------------------------

Registered 6 years agoweren't both the PS1 and PS2 £299 at launch? The PS3 was stupidly overpriced at £425. I'd expect this to come in around £350 i reckon although it maybe higher as i don't see Sony subsidising the cost of hardware much this time round. -

Registered 11 years agoThey've always sold their consoles at a loss, the PS3 is still selling at a loss for that matter.
I think only Nintendo have sold their hardware at a profit.

Registered 7 years agoI think Sony will show the hardware and give some details at this first event, and games and pricing comes at E3. Microsoft will probably turn to Jimmy Fallon for it, like they did Kinect, and go either late Feb or early March, also announcing price at E3 and showing games.
Basically, I think the best we get is maybe a look at hardware and a release window. -

The PS3 not-so-slim brought them near break even (6 cent loss on the dollar as of Feb 2010), so I'd hazard a guess that the recent PS3 slimmer improved that position even further. If I cared more I'd look, but whatever. -

That's the thing! People seem to bemoan Nintendo's technology standpoint, but they always go about things in the perspective of actually making money from their product. Which isn't that much of a barmy business proposition.

A timely reminder of Sony's habit of launching in Europe months behind Japan and North America. I remember their infamous "pack of lies" E3 PS3 reveal where they touted a simultaneous worldwide launch. Which, along with most of the other claims from that conference, never happened.
