    As long as it's not "look it's what we could find in bulk okay" PS1 grey. Blue would be cool, black too would be fine. I just hope the design looks more "consumer electronics" than "50s library in a German city".

    And yeah, there's a reason Sony's TVs aren't making money, and it's the fact they've been eclipsed by Panasonic and Samsung at the top end. It's not even close. Even my wife, noted upgradophobe and doubter of 3D and 1080P, loves the Panasonics and wants one. She even commented on the picture, which I have to admit threw me.

    i did this, it was £120 for one of these, or about £90-100 for an equivalent blu ray player that does netflix and streams media from my PC.

    The main thing I'm looking for from the PS4 is a flat top - I'm fed up with having to retrieve controllers from down the back of the unit when they slide off, and I could stack the Xbox on top (if it has no top vents).

    I can relate to that one. Plus USB ports on the rear would be nice! Hide away the charger cable for the controller and run it round the back or something. That's if they still go with bluetooth controllers which i'm pretty sure they will. Unless they use some crazy Wii U style trickery wi-fi in the controller connection but i think that would be total overkill.

    A good solid console would be aces.

    Maybe it would help if you put your pads, you know ... on a flat surface?

    This has probably already been said but my only wish for the PS4 is that they keep backwards compatibility in for a bit longer.

    Not having a PS3 I've missed out on a few games I wouldn't mind playing and at this stage I'd rather save my money and wait for a PS4 rather than buy a cheap PS3.

    The most important factors for me as to whether I get one near launch, will be a better controller with concave analogs and precise feeling triggers, and an OS that isn't sluggish, doesn't have to sync trophies, and doesn't have to install d/l content every godamn time.

    The above is probably more important to me than raw system specs or BC.

    How plausible is BC if all the Cell bollocks has been dropped? Genuinely curious, CPU/GPU architecture is like black magic to me.

    Even if they have a streaming solution for BC I wonder if they'll have a system to register games you own to avoid paying twice. Or potentially the revised PS+ could give full access to the entire PS2/3 back catalogue?

    Will be interesting to see how much they actually show this month and how much they hold back for E3.

    I'll be pretty pissed if I have to rebuy any of my games for BC if they are the untouched previous gen offerings that I still have on my shelf.

    Any game you own on PSN, you get to stream. For disc-based games you own, if you put it into the drive, you can stream.

    I just can't see them setting up datacentres full of PS3s, though. I mean, will they use devkits with the games on HDDs, for instance?

    why not just keep your old console? i don't understand the issue with BC. implementing will drive the price of the new console up.

    It does annoy me how they refuse to acknowledge that consoles are AV equipment in their design, despite moving more and more towards that in function.

    Not so likely. Why do that when thay can get you to pay again, like with the PS2 "classics" you can download?

    I'd pay a bit more not to have to keep the old kit. I don't like having loads of kit buzzing away in the corner.
