Anyway in short we are going to end up with lasers beams and shit in our arms.
I don't like the idea of having shit in my arms...

Unless you mean "arms" as in weapons, that is. Which would be fucking rad.

Fuck having laser beams in my arms. There could never be enough safety systems which would make me feel relaxed while having a wank ever again.

Good point that. Not to mention the lady's concerns about receiving, uhm, private treatment.

I think unguided evolution is over for humans. We will start to be able to engineer ourselves far faster than any natural evolutionary processes. Of course maybe that is still part of natural evolution as it's our evolved brains that will be driving things.
Perhaps, but we're a long way off that yet. 'Unguided' evolution otherwise known as natural selection depends on people getting to sexual maturity then having kids - it is biased against people who don't get to that age or who can't conceive/carry a child. We've got rid of a lot of the killers of the young these days, in the Western world at least, which will make it more about who has the most kids. I tell you, Catholics were ahead of the ball on this one.

    Mega Space Nuke

Note the great anti-asteroid idea in the comments.

Cool picture of Saturn by the Cassini probe.

Article with bigger images, where you can see Earth and Saturn's moons.

I like how the bottom line is "don't panic, nothing to worry about" and put an image of a GIGANTIC solar flare along the article. Yes, very reassuring that.

I thought I was the only one listening to that.

    AWESOME

Unless it breaks into bits, some of which head towards Earth. Not so awesome, that.

@oceanmotion some sources now saying something has emerged from the other side.
  • Deleted user 29 November 2013 00:12:41
Yeah, leftovers. Which brings up the 'break up' scenario I mentioned. The debris field could start to spread as it climbs out of the Sun's gravity well.
  • Deleted user 29 November 2013 00:13:04
    Fucking hope not though!
