Yeah, I was thinking the same.

Funny bit in the last episode, run away from that person, cut to next scene, they meet up from different directions. What!

So, that was the finale then. It did get renewed so roll on next year.

    Rubbish finale.

One of the main draws for me when it launched was that it would be one season and one season only. Now it's drawn out to at least two seasons. They clearly hadn't planned for that to happen and I worry about what's to come.

I was hoping for a conclusion to it all this season and then a prequel, off-shoot whatever for the next. But noooo.

Fuck. I'll read the plot summary for the book on wikipedia and see how that ends.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Don't bother, beyond the initial set-up and character names, this is no longer anything like the book.

Season 2 was confirmed before the first episode had been shown.

I've been fooled. Damn you american TV! Damn you all to hell!

Also, wish I'd read @YenRug s recommendation before I read the plot summary on wikipedia. That sounded slightly worse than the TV series.

@Tonka Whilst the plot of the book is relatively simple, compared with where the series is taking things, the strength of the book was the clash of characters; whilst broadly similar archetypes and motivations as in the series, they're stronger, more forceful, whilst their interactions are more subtle.

And I shouldn't base the opinion of a book by the summary on wikipedia. Plus, hardly a surprise that end seems like a cop out.

It's still shit with terrible acting.

But why do I still watch it ? Obviously to find out what the crappy reason in the end behind the dome will be.

    Sigh

No, it wasn't, you were right in the first place. It got renewed about midway through the season after the ratings went big.

I've been enjoying Under the Dome as the trashy disposable entertainment that it is but the last episode of season 1 was not especially great or very interesting IMO.

Is it my imagination, or does the plane crashing into the dome in the opening credits hit the dome from the outside?

It's your imagination, it was inside, the truck they liked to show getting crumpled was outside driving into it.

Probably the most expensive effects shot they had so they had to keep using it in the intro.

    Moo!

I know it was inside, but I swear the curve of the impact goes the wrong way.

OK I take it back, just watched it back in super-slowmo, yes I'm stupid enough to still have the episodes, the angle is a bit wrong.

You're not mad, yet more incompetence on the show makers part, along with the fact the characters see the plane going from their left to right on the ground and the viewer sees the plane going left to right of the frame so the opposite way to the characters further confusing things.

    Christ this show is shit.

    Just finished watching the season.

    SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

I don't know why I bothered sticking with it tbh. It's a real problem actually, I hate giving up on something halfway through. I couldn't believe they were building gallows and NO ONE said anything about, like, maybe putting him on trial first. Also, I hate sheriff Linda with a passion. She's such a fucking arsehole.

They did seem to forget about Barbie saying he was not guilty in front of the whole town. If he had said guilty like he was meant to the gallows would have made sense.

They also seem to be no longer worried about Julia who they were previously after due to her knowing Barbie was not guilty. What's going to happen when they hang him and she turns up again? Should they not sort of make sure they have her under their control before hanging Barbie?

It's just dumb writing really. The writers don't seem to be able to remember what they have previously written.

Despite all its flaws I'm looking forward to this.

Hopefully it will keep my attention longer than series 2 of Revolution. I've got 5 episodes on my TiVo and I really can't be bothered.

It's the worst show from last year but I'm looking forward to it coming back because it's so awful.

Gave up on Revolution fairly quickly in the second season as I'm sure it was so dumb it was actually making me more stupid.
