OK, I read about the machete order and watched it all (not for the first time, of course). Now I've got a need for some epic space combat with space cruiser flybys, death stars etc etc. Is there anything out there for 360 or even OSX that I've missed out on?

I cannot think of any from this gen. I'd suggest getting a cheap Gamecube and a copy of Rogue Squadron 2 for all your Star Wars thrills.

Damnit! I had that same thought... loved the N64 Rogue Squadrons, but really wanted to avoid buying new hardware. GC's are pretty cheap though... you've just made my mind up for me!

GC games are backwards compatible on the Wii, right?

You'll get a gamecube set up with that for £30. Highly recommended.

Pretty sure Dolphin works on OSX, can get a gamecube up and running for all of £0.

And in HD. With AA. With a 360 controller.

F-zero GX at least works a bloody treat.

I was gonna say that too, although I didn't actually like that section very much.

All this time and no-one's even mentioned X-Wing yet. For shame.

Rogue Squadron games are notorious for being hard to emulate and unplayable, so in this specific case he's out of luck.

They are also very bad games. Couldn't pay me to play Rogue Squadron again.

    Just play Freespace 2.

Gamecube games require a gamecube controller. The Wii classic controller won't work.

Also take note that the newer Wii-s dropped the GC support! Don't know exact details - google should know :)

I just read the machete order article while cooking - interesting read! Thanks for pointing me to that :D

Now I want to play the Rogue Squadron games, but my Gamecube and games are packed away in the loft...

I just want to play freespace again, but I'm not sure I'm up for the modding dance at the moment.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.
