What happens if you work at HMV

    If you lose your job at HMV where do you go from here? Is it the end of your career? What should I do> maybe Ill go back to Russia.. sigh.

    what do you do at HMV? have you got transferable skills you can use somewhere else?

    I stocked the shelves for 3 years. Worked in the DVD and Game Section. Got employee of the month once, which I can put on my CV>.

    You'll have to apply for jobs at other retailers. I hear what you are saying though, its a very crowded market at the moment :-(

    potluck, with these things nowadays. have to look good speak well, be educated to a good standard but not be TOO educated (degree) or they turn you down, to get just a supermarket entry level job. Many many factors.

    What area are you based. Could try a flasy retailer like selfridges. I worked there from the age of 18-21 and I absolutely loved it.

    Group interviews at supermarkets, god I hated those. You don't look too interested, no fucking shit boss man, just give me the bloody job instead of this make an ad for Christmas bollocks.

    You can't walk down the street without seeing advert after advert for part time work. All the added advantages of being a part timer (slacker) but the money of a full timer.

    When I was younger I remember going for a group job interview at the Odeon where they made everyone design an outfit that went with a certain film out of a bin liner and some paper. I made an Iceman outfit from Top Gun and it looked EPIC!

    I swear they were taking the piss.
