Registered 6 years agoThe way I see it, is you should do what you have to do to defend yourself. Restrain the attacker, hit back if necessary. I see no difference between male and female aggressors. If you attack someone, you deserve what's coming to you within reason.
I cannot state what "within reason" is. IMO it does not extend to continually beating someone on the floor or stabbing them etc, however things happen fast and there's often not enough time to think properly, so if someone is clearly trying to defend themselves, they should be allowed to do so.The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

No matter who (male, female, big or small) it is always best to restrain rather than fight - fight is often what they want. It's not fair to react to violence from anyone with disproportionate force. If the person who is attacking you (of any gender) is not doing so effectively, then just walk away or restrain them.
If someone is hurting you, and they are not under your care, then you should react with only enough force to make them stop, IMO.
Women are, on the whole, rubbish at fighting*, and so should be considered as coming under the first point until proven otherwise. Some of us grew up more violent times with two older brothers and so are capable of bringing a world of pain - and that's the bottom line. Fight or flee.
*as are many men.
