Will anyone be playing this when it comes to XBLA?
I watched a game play video on Gamespot and it looks interesting!

Well I hope they add any new content to the PC version. Otherwise toys will be thrown! ;p

I don't think they will Moot Point. Didn't the original team flog it off and said no more updates?

I thought something like that happened. My son was moaning about it a few months back.

Kind of explains why I have seen Terraria so cheap in the steam sales. Must have financed the XBLA version.

A load of retards complain that the PC version was "abandoned" before it was finished. What actually happened is they periodically added loads of new content, for free. Then they stopped doing that and people moaned about it, despite the fact the game has about a million times more content than most games already.

So has anyone else picked this up? Bit pricey at 1200 points, but looks like it could be fun so I took the plunge.

1200 is just too much for a game that's so cheap on other platforms. I'll pass, at least until a sale.

Its only cheap on one other platform. And that's more than likely because of sales anyway. I've bought it and got it for my 5 year old son, and I'll be gettin it when it comes to vita as well

How does the online co-op work? Is it matchmade, or invite only from your friends list? Haven't seen any of my friends playing it, so won't buy unless it has matchmaking.

I'm struggling to see why this game is popular? Maybe I'm being naive... But it feels like a much more limited Minecraft. Almost like Terraria came first and Minecraft was the superior sequel, but that's not the case is it, so Terraria just comes off a little lame in my opinion.

I can't say I was impressed by the demo. The whole thing felt a bit clunky . Maybe the appeal is in multiplayer, but i'll be sticking to Minecraft, personally.

It is clunky, but so damned therapeutic. I can sit for what feels like minutes only to discover several hours has passed.

I was told by folk playing it (over live, as we played Minecraft) that the demo isn't a good indicator of the game, as it takes a long time to get going.

Though to me a 2D Minecraft lacks appeal and even if it did appeal, I can't handle more Minecraft than I have already. I've a cathedral to finish, a rail transit system, that series of bridges, the hotel appartments for guest players, the dungeon that makes use of that amazing cluster of monster spawners...

At a very basic level this is 2D Minecraft, in that you can dig, mine and build stuff. It has water pumps, wires, and loads of customisation to build whatever you want. Your creativity is your only limit. But, again, that's only Terraria at it's most basic level, but this sums up 99% of Minecraft.

Terraria has the one thing Minecraft lacks in endless qualities, Terraria has depth. It has many bosses, npcs, many various enemies, dungeons, sky castles, underground jungles, a vast underground system of caves. All of which add to the game. To that end I've always found the comparison fair, but lacking. It's so much more than a 2D minecraft. Much much more.

God damn it, I've been reading about this and it's interesting. I need a new game like I need a condom with staples in it.

It's definitely more 'fun' than Minecraft, with more character I'd say.

I think I've put a fair few hours in now, and got the landscaper achievement, but I know I've barely scratched the surface.

Well I ended up picking it up to play with a friend when he popped over for a cuppa and 4 hours later he realised he was meant to be somewhere else.

What I really like is how easy it is to use the controller (wish they added that to the PC one). The problem with it though is explaining to someone that you have kill the first boss for it to get going and that can take 10+ hours but once defeated it triggers events that just keep changing the world and then make it fun to hunt down the enemies in stead of running scared.

I cant believe it hasn't sold more on the 360 (was 190,000+ on the leader boards earlier) none of my 360 chums have bought it aren't planning on buying it.

If anyone would like a hand in it send me a FR tag: DuvaDan. I've got to a point where I've got quite a few extra things lying around that will give players an extra helping hand.

I don't believe so. It's more about your world and your adventure in it.

The first is a big eye. It only appears at night and there are 3 things that can trigger it as far as I know. Have 3 NCPs move in (not including the old man), have 100+ health or you craft/find a floating eye (think its called that) to summon it.

Your character can go across multiple maps and whatever you are carrying will go with you. My first map was a large one, kind of wish I went with a small/medium one as that make finding a few items early on a lot easier but now it's great just need to unlock hard mode.

Really? Seems to be selling very well indeed according to this:
