There are 50 but as I'm on my phone here are the top ten.

    Riot games.
    Arkane studios.
    From software
    Bungie
    Rockstar north
    Naughty dog
    Platinum games
    Nintendo ead
    Mojang

    Number 1 valve.

No huge surprise there although I wouldn't give it to valve for ruining half life by just ending on a cliffhanger and then leaving it.

Two main reviews, planetside 8, dmc 8.

I liked the one where the US government said that they wouldn't build a death star.

    It was well funny.

And Konami and Treasure and Taito and Namco and SNK and GSC Games World?

    Valve 1st? That's a joke.

And developers of one game ever second. Lol.

I'll give you Treasure but tell me the last decent things Konami, Namco and SNK did.

    /prepares to be slapped down

The list appears to be current developers anyway, so GSC are exempt. There's a lot of people who seem to be put out that Mojang are second, but there seems to be a fuck load of people who appreciate what they do and the way they do it. Personally, Minecraft leaves me cold, but they're obviously doing something right and different from what a lot of developers seem to be.

Most haven't done anything recently, but there's nothing anywhere to say what this list is about. Without that vital info, it's a shit list stacked to suck up to current movers and shakers in the hope of getting a cheeky scoop on their latest projects.

Valve themselves only made Dota 2 last year and that was nothing more than a bit of fan service to a mod rather than a full release. So the only real game they've had a hand in within a couple of years is Portal 2 and before then, the lacklustre L4Ds and Episode 2.

GSC made the Stalker games, which shit all over every FPS, with possible exception of Deus Ex.

Really don't get the Valve worship. Sure they produce decent polished FPS games but thats it; very little originality or variation.

    L4D: another zombie FPS
    HL: another alien invasion FPS
    Team fortress: another multiplayer shooter

    ....

Portal seems to be the only one that does something that is not cliche

I can't imagine anyone went "Oh noes another alien invasion FPS?!" in 1998.

Same with L4D, what matched L4D for style in 2008 or whenever? It was as original as you're going to get for an FPS. Zombie FPSs hadn't got anywhere near reaching their peak back then, it's only now that we're seemingly oversaturated with them.

For the record, I didn't really like L4D that much. But consolewise, it was fairly unique.

And you couldn't match TF2s free multiplayer until very recently either.

I like TF2, but it came out as part of the Orange Box in 2007.
