Is the economy a bit more forgiving yet? Takes an awful lot of grinding since recent patches to actually get anywhere.
The patch released today changes the economy for the better. The actual rewards seem to be pretty similar to before but repair and initial cost of planes is cheaper, sometimes by quite a bit.
I'm wavering on WT now. Used to LOVE it, then hated it when the first economy nerf hit and now I'm getting sick and tired of being one shot 3 or 4 times in each match. Getting boring REALLY fast.
It can get frustrating when that kind of thing happens yeah.
But yes lots of plusses from this update, not least of which many FM updates including much needed speed buffs the Spit's Tiffy's and TEmpest to take them up to where they ought to be historically.
And Hispano's seem much more efficient now too! *Pats his Typhoon*
And just to confirm, the new economy model has not been introduced with this patch. Will be released in the next few weeks apparently.
Yes I noticed the prices hadn't changed.
And many new maps to play with too in Arcade and HB's.

Having been playing this recently, yeah, I really wish I'd started playing it earlier since the economy is kind of pisspoor, it makes everything after Rank 6 a trudge.
Got to nearly Rank 12 in the Brits but I can't even afford a Rank 11 Spit, god forbid I wanted something like the Mosquito because then I'd have to basically spend 1 million lions plus in order to work my way through the crappy bombers (stopped at the first Rank 7 Wellington).
One thing annoys me is the fact they'll stick multiple Rank aircraft in just to slow down progress. I already bought 1 Rank 7, I shouldn't have to buy a second, also why the fuck are heavy fighters in the Bomber line for the Brits? Shouldn't they have their own line like virtually every other nation does except the Brits?
It was fun but starting to lose interest pretty quickly, unlike in WoT where you work 1 line at a time and 1 nation at a time, thus kind of making the prices not too bad, WT encourages multi-nation play by making you wait your ass off on the free repairs (or paying over the odds for non-free repairs, seriously why are the lower tiers less profitable than the higher tiers, shouldn't it be the other way around?) and they're are multiple lines to rank up in, especially if your Nation doesn't have a lot of options (like the Brits of Japanese but unlike say the Germans or Soviets who get a fuckton of aircraft to fill out slots, which kind of makes sense since it IS a Russian developed game, thus the Russian/German conflict is the main focus...again).
Plus I'm really not struck on the "oh you have to get high Rank aircraft to actually earn money" schtick they have with the whole different rewards percentages going on.
I know it is to both discourage 'seal clubbing' (where an experienced player plays low tiers for easy kill and credits) and to encourage you to rank up but...eh...not sure I like it.

You cool fighter aces still playing?
I am and it still rocks.
Am playing HB's alot more than AB's now.
I kinda got bored with it for some reason - although as a World of Tanks fanatic I'm looking forward to seeing what War Thunder: Ground Forces is like.
Ah fair enough.
Yeah I'm looking forward to that too.

I've given it a go and I'm not a great fan to be honest although that's because planes and me don't tend to get along, I can do it but I just tend to find them rather annoying since there's very little you can do if someone gets behind you. I'm more looking forward to the tanks because hopefully the devs in this one won't be such a bunch of arseholes that wargaming can be when it comes to fixing tanks.

Have we got a squadron sorted yet?
8/10. Better than ...
Some newly revealed tank gun sounds for some of the tanks in War Thunder: Ground Forces:
(perhaps we'll need a new thread for Ground Forces?).
Some War Thunder - Ground Forces footage now available here:
Looks really nice.
Downloaded this earlier and had a tool around for an hour or so. Mostly out of curiosity before the PS4 launch next month.
The research tree just screams inevitable grind but I'm having fun before the shine wears off. Although considering how quiet this thread is I wonder if the shine wears off quickly?
Still playing regularly most days myself.
Maybe we're all playing not posting

I just unlocked a Spitfire. For some reason this stirs my gaming loins.
One question though, is "omg rammer" the WT equivalent of people crying about wall hacks and the like? It seems to me that collisions are basically inevitable with a ton of planes wizzing around, and no doubt some do it intentionally but is it really that wide spread?
I think for the most part they're not intentional and it often happens as a consequence of head on engagements but any kind of collision now gets the response "OMG rammer!".
Ah makes sense. One game I had earlier got quite heated in the chat with people accusing each other after every kill.
Not to point out the obvious but this looks lovely doesn't it? Surprised there's been so little mention of it across gaming sites.

Really excited for this. Holding out for the PS4 release to build anticipation.
The videos I've seen look fantastic. Am I right in thinking this has cross play between PS4 + PC?
