This has been bugging me all morning.

I'm trying to remember the names of a couple of toy figures that were available, iirc, in the early 80's. They were roughly action man sized, and the 'goodie' was some sort of android, and the baddie was (I think) called Mutant.

I'm pretty sure the goodie had interchangable arms, so you could add a water cannon and so on. He was clear / transparent in a Cortana stylee - can't remember what the Mutant looked like. Green, probably.

I can't think what the goodie was called, and all my searches with 'Mutant' keep coming up with Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles'.

Anybody remember what they were called?

    Found them!

It wasn't Android and Mutant, it was Cyborg and Muton!

And I was about 10 years out. It was 1975!

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Merman.

X201 - I'm sure there was a UK version of the 'Smash-em up derby' thing. Can't think what it was called. The truck looks familiar, but don't remember the VW Beetle.

There was a transparent robot He-Man figure as well, that had clockwork cogs in the middle that went round when you twisted his waist.

Christ knows what that one was called.

Mine had the VW Beetle and the Red American Truck in it.

Not sure what the name of the UK version was though.

    I love this site.

I had all the really shit ones - Roboto, Buzz-Off, Tri-Clops, King Hiss, Leech... I don't know if I had really bad taste in toys or my parents were having a gigantic laugh at my expense.
