I played Portal before it was a "thing" and my initial thought was 'wtf is this nonsense' and I never touched it again.

You deny touching Portal again, but I noticed you didn't deny touching children...

    I'm suggesting you're a paedophile because you don't like Portal. It's edgy.

Portal was brilliant! Portal 2 was average, it had its moments bit on the whole it was meh.

Portal was alright. Had no replay value and was very short. Never bothered with the second one as a result.

I enjoyed the second one. It makes you feel smart when you crack a chamber, like a genius or a doctor.

Portal was fucking great. Portal 2 too. Little replay value, but they really, really stood out.

Portal 2 showed an astonishing attention to detail too. And both were very funny imho.

I enjoyed portal, but I didn't get the hysterics that seemed to surround it. A short, well made and fun game, but not the life changing experience it was made out to be.

Had it come from another developer I don't think it would have got the same acclaim.

Shadow of the Colossus is a fucking awful game with cameras and controls that make it unplayable. The hints / guidance are unintelligible and the first Colossus (Colossi?) made me want to faceplant a wall really hard due to said controls.
I never did get around to figuring out what I was supposed to do and gave up. I really should get around to seeing what the fuss is about.

You are a factory of sadness.

Supposed to be "art" :D. Yeah I own it but haven't played it.

That's my big problem with Portal. I want to play a game not have a Science lesson.

    I enjoyed Bioshock 2, I didn't enjoy Bioshock 1.

Mirror's Edge was better than Portal or Portal 2.

Body Harvest is one of the top 5 N64 games imo. Very rough around the edges, but beneath the shoddy graphics is one hell of a game. Made by the guys who went on to make GTA 3.

Loved it. Vehicles vroom vroom! Don't think it's quite up there with Mario and Zelda though.

    @DrStrangelove

It's certainly not as groundbreaking as either Zelda or Mario 64. But personally I'd put it in the top 5. Maybe 5th. It was so unique compared with other N64 titles. Amazing atmosphere, and hard as nails!

Yes, thinking about it, there wasn't too much aside from Mario, Zelda, and F-Zero. I never played Goldeneye, but people say it was fantastic. So Body Harvest is a serious contender for Top Five.

EG gave 'Papers, Please' a 9!?

Give me a break, it's a 'fun for 10-15 minutes' microgame, that becomes a chore.

I know people are going to come at me with 'It's supposed monotonus and dreary' , but I might as well be working at a Tesco's checkout where I get similar 'fun' like trying not sell alcohol to teenagers with fake IDs when there's a gang of them or directing a person of ambiguous gender to the correct toilets without causing offence. The gameplay is basically, after the initial novelty disappears, a virtual job.

There are occasional events and characters which are interesting/funny like the guy who keeps trying to get past with a crappy ID, the murderer from the headlines and the night worker but it's a lot of boring gameplay to get through.

6/10 at best for a novel concept.

EG absolutely shit themselves over things that are a little bit different regardless of quality.

EG are generally ok with it, but rock paper shotgun love practically anything that is indie, which just means that the real gems (Monaco, Gunpoint etc) get hidden amongst shite like Proteus and Dear Esther

Uncharted 2 has clunky platforming, bad animations and god awful combat.

How in the fuck did this get such outstanding reviews? Has it just aged terribly in the past 4 years?

I wouldn't say the platform is clunky, it's just dull as dishwater.

The problem I've always had with Uncharted is that it goes out of its way to tell you exactly where you need to be going.

What happened to just letting people work it out for themselves?

Because most people can't think for themselves anymore. They need to be drip fed everything they do.
    I blame television.

    I liked Uncharted 2.
