    Here's an old one.

I really enjoyed R:Racing. The unloved Ridge Racer spin off released on PS2/GC/Xbox. It managed to take realistic-ish racing on typically dull real life circuits and make an immersive fun game.

Sure Forza and Gran Turismo are better realistic driving games, but I remember R:Racing being genuinely fun. I need to find a copy and try it again.

I honestly thought Uncharted 2 wasn't as brilliant as the masses made it turn out to be.

Most of the time it felt much as a on-rails third person shooter, rather than a adventure-exploration game. Maybe I missing the point of the Uncharted series, but I did expect the games to have more than just mainly shooting. Sure there were puzzles, but they were hardly good.

The combat/gameplay mechanics is uninspired and ropey at times. The story is okay though.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very good game, but not brilliant for me.

Come on, this is an unpopular opinions thread, not games that you didn't quite like as much as others sorta seem to.

All sports games are shit. Apart from some tennis games -and only in multiplayer.

@Metalfish that's not an opinion. That's just wrong.
You can't legitimately claim all of a genre is rubbish.

    Apart from jrpg's of course.*

R: Racing was awesome. I just bought it out of desperation for a racing sim, and was pleasantly surprised it was really good. The Pressure bar was a good idea, with a visible bar showing you how much pressure you were applying to opponents. Get it high and they'd start to get crashy.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

For a joke, that's strikingly true though.

@DFawkes wasn't it just, that and the guy on the radio. It still shocks me that no other racing developers have developed that idea more

So would it be an unpopular opinion here to say that Xenoblade is a better RPG than Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, the two Fallout games, Final Fantasy XIII and the Fable games?

I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles, but with the exception of Fable 1&2, I don't care much for any of those. So I probably agree.

I'll be honest. I haven't played Skyrim or Fallout New Vegas, but the rest failed to hold my attention.

Haven't played Xenoblade or Fable, but since Skyrim is the best RPG, you're wrong.

    Oblivion

So your a medieval warrior of some kind, the world is huge with a vast array of enemies. You could potentially spend weeks in the world they created.

But the combat feels like it was pulled it from an early IOS game totally destroying the illusion.

    Rubbish

That's not an unpopular opinion - just everyone got bored of saying it over and over when the game was actually new.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

An unpopular opinion about Oblivion would be that the horse armor download is the best and most honest example of using for-pay downloads this generation.

I doubt you'll ever see it; though sometimes I get the sense that some people use this thread in the same way a hot person will fish for compliments about their looks.

Here's mine though: in the race for best adventure games of all time, Ace Attorney series > King's Quest series > Monkey Island series.

I predict this is going to be hugely unpopular.

Unless JTN's hot. Then I agree with him.

Just posted this somewhere else, but Mass Effect 2 seems to have got immensely good reviews.

It is a nice game, but compared to ME1 it is shit.

I remember one part late in Jak II, where I just kept dying for no reason I could see. I eventually figured out that I was playing in widescreen, which chopped off the top and bottom of the 4:3 view, and in this particular section the camera was fixed so it was impossible to see who was shooting me.

Bioshock Infinite is extremely pretty but is repetitive and boring.

Sometimes I think playing games is a waste of time and I feel guilt after long sessions. A bit like masturbation.

    Basically gaming = wanking

The difference though is that wanking helps you get to sleep whereas gaming makes you wired. Therefore wanking is more useful.

I also use wanking to help me wake up in the morning, and to help my digest my lunch, relax in the afternoon and get ready for a night out. Wanking is multi-purpose.

So wrong it's not even funny.

But I guess that's what this thread is for! :)

Infinite is a brilliant game and I didn't finish the first one so I wouldn't write it off based on that alone.

    Portable view - Never forget.

Having now put a few hours into Bioshock Infinite I have to agree with you there - the game design sucks and the attempt to merge the story with the repetitive shooting segments just doesn't work (for me). The game would have worked a lot better if it had been designed as basically a 3D adventure minus all the shooting segments.

Also, Skyrim is an overrated piece of shit.

    That'll do for now. :)
