I'll start then.

Half Life 2: Not very good, the gunplay, the on-railsness and the horribly boring and overly long themed sections were all guff.

Bioshock: Very pretty, but the game was average at best.

    All JRPGs: Absolute cock.

Multiplayer: Shoehorned into everything and I couldn't give less of a shit about it. Although this is probably a popular opinion.

    Let the good times roll!

I agree on all counts making this thread pretty much redundant.

Although COD is awesome getting better every year...

@Dirtbox I'd agree with Bioshock. I know everyone says how great it is but I just don't seem to get it. It's a game that doesn't gel with me very well.

I didn't see the appeal of HL2 or Bioshock, although I didn't really play either for very long. They were both decent enough games but not sure they deserved the praise the got.

I enjoy JRPGs but I agree with every bit of criticism they receive.

Skyrim is an incredibly average game in a pretty world (although you spend all the time in dungeons anyway).

I absolutely loved Half Life 2. It's still one of my favourite games, and in 2004, it was the best game.

    Get bent.

Yeah I didn't like HL2 either. Found it a bit boring and depressing - played all the way through waiting for the moment when I would realise why it's so good, then it ended. Seems on the sly quite a few people feel that way, but everyone else loves it so we are in the minority.

I don't like 2D Mario games. Never did. I feel ashamed.

Skyrims copy/paste dungeons were a little better than Oblivions in that it had 3 types of dungeon instead of 2.

I actually liked Enter The Matrix.

I don't see the appeal of Diablo, although I'm not in a position to criticise it really, as I've never played.

I liked Bioshock, but it wasn't that amazing. Just good. People seem to hold it up as some holy grail now.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

I've never enjoyed a Nintendo game. The latest Zelda would perhaps have been the exception to this rule but I didn't get along with the motion controls.

All dungeon crawlers/ loot em ups are the definition of dull

Another HL2 hater here. Well, I didn't hate it, but if ever I try to play it again, i'm reminded of how much I disliked most areas in the game. Glad I played it though, so I don't have to bother with the series ever again.

I never, ever get on with any stealth-based games. Not even Mark of the Ninja.

Zelda has gone a bit shit since Majora's Mask hasn't it.

How can you go from loving a franchise to hating it so much in a short space of time? Its well shit.

Give me a generic, on rails 5 hour long First Person Shooter any day then another 50 hour boring slog lighting deku sticks, chasing chickens and talking to triangle faced kids playing Zelda.

Mobile games are all rubbish thanks to the terrible touch/tilt controls that are forced on you.

    Mass Effect

An promising space adventure completely ruined by a boring typical scifi story and immense levels of tedious bla bla bla.

Skyrim is overrated shite and worse than Oblivion, which is in turn much worse than Morrowind. 99% of so-called AAA releases are utter tripe and have been focus group tested to oblivion for non-gamers and tutorialized up the arse to such an extent I find them offensive to play.

    More later.

Yeah WTF was that about? The hype machine told us that there was no longer dungeon repetition. At about hour 40 I was in the 20th Draugr dungeon I suddenly realised I didn't want to spend me evening fighting the fucking Draugr over and over and over.

I don't think that'd apply to Battlefield as multiplayer is the main focus. If anyhting, the single player is shoehorned into it.

Stuff like the AC games, Dead Space, Mass Effect, completely unnecessary.

Not an unpopular opinion, but tutorials in FPSs should be crushed right now. If I'm told to hold whatever to duck under something one more time I am going to drive over to the lead designer's house, kick the door in, duct tape him and his family to chairs and rape his wife and children in front of him before torturing him to death in front of them.

    It's only fair.

That's backwards though. Single player was shoehorned in.
