I know I had been hoping to get some genuine Nintendo black ones, to match my premium Wii U, without breaking the bank too much... Problem I've found, I'm pretty sure all of the really cheap ones my searches find are knock-offs, the sort that will fall apart after a couple of weeks use. Anyway, thought I'd share a couple of cheap options I have come across:

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9384765.htm

This one is for Wii Play Motion that comes with the read Motion Plus Wii-Mote, currently 19.99 in Argos' Winter/Xmas sale. The only drawback that I can see: finding a genuine matching red nunchuck; if you're happy to mix'n'match, go for it, if you're even slightly OCD, it's going to wind you up.

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9088425.htm

A third-party (PowerA) option, with the surprise bonus that it has the equivalent of Motion Plus built in and you get a nunchuk included in the 24.99 pricepoint; the only reason for it being Argos linked to, they seem to be the only ones with them in stock and at this low a price, I found cheaper listings but they were either out of stock or charged S&H on top. I found one review which reckoned it works as well as Nintendo's own, but their first review set was faulty, so there might be reliability issues; personally, I like the smaller form factor, despite having large hands, as I always found the 1 & 2 buttons way too far to reach comfortably. I haven't used it with the Wii U, yet, but with a quick hands-on it was noticeable the buttons weren't quite as slick in moving as Nintendo ones, though I'm not sure if that will be all that noticeable in use; the nunchuk is pretty much the same size as the original, though the analogue stick is a little stiffer and springs back to centre more readily, I prefer that, though.

Anyone else managed to find any bargains/alternatives they'd like to suggest?

An alternative to hunting around for cheap Wii-motes would be to sell your Wii.

What's difficult to understand about that, thickie?

He doesn't even have a Wii, he just wants to put the motes up his bum. They are a real nice fit for him. The gentle contours of the buttons tickle his prostate in a way the gerbils never did.

I've got a nice pink one that would be good for this. Nothing like a bit of black and pink.

Asda are/were selling that Power A option (or something that looks rather like it) for 17 quid, according to a post in the main WiiU thread. Not been able to find a unit in the wild though, so may have all sold out now at that price.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I've seen that one in my local ASDA, it's not got the Motion Plus function built in, so you'd have to plug one of the dongles into the end of it.

People who shop at Argos make babies with people who buy food from Iceland.

Should someone who doesn't have the intelligence to work out how to drive a manual car really be looking down their nose at people?

That sounds like a line of Mordin's dialogue from Mass Effect 2.

Got 4 now, all new. 2 black, 1 white and the 1 red one that came with the Wii Mini.
Now just to find 4 people to play with...
