Figure of Momohime, for those who like gaming merchandise. :)

Yes, I do own this. ;)

You got it Murbs? :D I didn't know about the soundtrack until someone mentioned it, a nice surprise.

@santashi I'm sure that Momohime figure was sold out everywhere when it was first released! Still, I think my wife would frown if I bought that (even though more tasteful than my quite obvious boobs-in-your-face Mai Shiranui figure; which alas is no longer on view and packed away in the attic).

Doesn't help the latest Fire Emblem Tharja figure is tempting me too.

Anyway, I diverge... so having played the Wii version, I think I'll still import this along with Dragon's Crown. Where's my credit card...?

@aros turned up this morning. My wife works evenings on Monday so when I get home I'll stick the girls in front of the TV and have a quick go :-)

@Mageme Yeah, it does seem to be hard to get hold of! I preordered the rereleased version that came out in January. Given the prices second hand ones go for, I guess getting it for around 50 wasn't so bad. :o I guess she doesn't look entirely decent (although not the worst I own in that department), but the colours and pose are really pretty. Tharja definitely comes in the tempting-but-oh-dear camp. :p

The graphics are genuinely stunning - I know this was known as a beautiful game originally but it's something else. The review that said it had some of the best graphics in any game, ever, was not wrong.

That figure is very cool and really captures the 2D art in a 3D model, I love it. If there were Chinese knock offs of it on ebay for up to 18 I would snap it up!

Is this a good time to mention that I've pre-ordered Tharja? How could I not when she's my avatar's beloved?

    :-|

No word on an EU release date for Muramasa yet? I played the Wii version and thought it looked great but didn't care much for the gameplay, so I won't be importing. But I wouldn't mind picking up a copy of the Vita port when it's cheap just to admire those visuals on that screen.

Tharja's figure certainly looks high quality.

I've lost the link, but apparently there was some statement by someone somewhere that nobody had expressed interest in localising Muramasa for the EU... or the internet made stuff up. But that never happens! ;)

I'm not even sure Muramasa has a publisher for Europe let alone a release date.

I was annoyed enough that I imported it despite knowing the DLC (assuming it ever arrives) would be a problem.

I just received it today and the first 30 minutes of Monohime(?)'s story was fairly confusing. I assume the bad spirit has taken over the original girl's body just before you face the first boss?

@santashi Where do you get your figures from? I got the Vesperia ones from Amazon, but always like to keep an eye out for better places.

@steve1979 AmiAmi. Did you use a proxy for Amazon? I always find AmiAmi cheapest for figures (I go with SAL shipping, too) and CDJapan best for games. You may get hit with a customs charge but even with one added on, its still usually significantly cheaper than getting it from a UK retailer.

@santashi No, just went to Amazon and they sent it without a problem (got loads of Japanese sweets in the box too). I use them for loads of stuff, especially my kotobukiya figures.

I use VG+ for games, i don't import Japanese games as my Japanese is awful. I've seen AmiAmi a lot, but they always seem to sell out of stuff really quickly.

@steve1979 Hmm, interesting. Everything item I look at always says that Amazon.jp won't ship it to the UK. I've probably just been unlucky!

I use VGP for 3DS games and other region free US version imports, but CDJapan for Japanese games. I do sometimes still use AmiAmi for games, too, if they've got a good offer on. You're best preordering figures you really want, as they can skyrocket in price when sold out.

    Yeah, well. :-)

10-20 days for delivery, though. Plus, I'm wondering what customs will do about it. Anyway, she's gorgeous.

@dominalien She certainly is! The little details and painting are lovely. Where did you order from? Some places like CDJapan mark as a gift, which helps a little with customs.

I ordered from some seller on Amazon. CDJapan says it's "out of print", which doesn't bode well for availability. Their price is suspiciously low, too...

Anyway, come what may. It'll be this year's birthday gift for myself.

Edit: yeah, marking as a gift helps A LOT with customs over here. I bought a replacement projector lamp recently from the US ($150 versus 300 over here, fuck that) and the seller marked is as a gift and put in the value at $25; it arrived at my door with no fuss.

Is this a remake of the Wii version? Man, I loved that game. I no longer have a Vita but if I did I'd be all over this. I can't think of a better suited console. The graphics on that screen must look something special.

Haha, sorry. We can only pay what things are worth to us. :p While I rarely see a shop with a bigger collection of Vita games than I have, so obviously waste tonnes, I couldn't bring myself to spend 50 on something to just sit on my toys shelf.

Didn't get to play any more of this yesterday and won't be home until about 10pm today but I am really looking forward to playing more of this.

It just sounds kinda weird to me to hear someone say, "What a lovely work of art they've made! I'd love to have a knock-off of it.". Maybe that's just me. :)

I can understand that not everyone is interested in having art around the house, though. That's pretty normal. :)

Absolutely. Many people will not even classify this as "art".

I, however, am very happy to pay that kind of money for this stuff.

I think so- after that section she is called Monohime Jinkuro, although I can't remember if that was the case before then.

I've played through the next 1 and a half areas after that so no spoilers beyond then please :p It's taken me nearly 3 hours already, although I've spent as much time totally immersed and lost in the graphics and world as anything else!

The rating system that gives you bonus XP for a variety of factors is a wonderful touch and keeps you focussed to not just phone-in any battles. When you get all 5 slots of bonus XP =D When you know you've had a bad fight them get hit with 0 bonus XP =(

It is indeed and they are absolutely stunning. I would recommend buying a Vita for this if you really loved the game as it's up there in the top five games graphically ever made.

Definitely, the fighting is really satisfying. The bonus' element makes you focus and try your best in every fight too.

I like being able to deflect projectiles too.
