Read the comments in the Steam WarZ forum for some lolz.

Most people want a refund and are calling it a scam.

Said this was a cheap DayZ knock off/cash in right from the start , those that thought otherwise well .... i told you so :p

I think eurogamer shouldn't be running a full page advert for this scam. People are reporting being banned for looting other players that have cheated to obtain boobytrapped banable items.

I think you've spoken your bit on this subject and if anyone else have stories of woe they should chip in. Otherwise this thread should be ignored as immature tripe.

I personally haven't ever played the game and have no interest in doing so, always discounted it as an opportunistic marketing shit.

If you've got any beef with Eurogamer running advertising then you should consult their policies.

Everyone needs to click their banners and then leave the page. Costs them ad money (depending on the type of deal they have)

From reading the article on the front page, sounds like an almighty shitstorm has risen up.

Kudos to EG for removing the advertising from the site as well.

This Forbes article explains how it got onto Steam in the first place.

Many people are criticizing Valve for what is obviously an unfinished product showing up in their store. The problem appears to be a simple one. Because the games publisher had a game on Steam previously, their new titles can skip the review process, giving The War Z a free pass through the back door.

Valve may need to reconsider this policy in light of War Zs numerous problems, especially since many gamers will certainly demand a refund.

That Forbes thing is confusing me, I'm sure I've heard several developers complain about their new games getting refused by Steam despite having a successful previous game on there.

Only took a month for APB to go belly up. How are these guys swinging it?

Just got an email from Hammerpoint apologizing and outlining the things they are doing to fix things. Forwarded it to EG.

    Polygon have covered it.

Too late came the cry. The open letter that is, not your post.

So, if anyone ever signed up for this or their forum or anything like that, you might want to be aware they've been hacked and all the data yoinked.
