I was looking for a new free to play RPG. I recently stopped playing wow so I need something new, Keeping in mind my laptop hasnt the best of specs.
So guild wars 2 is a nono :( which kills me inside!

Basiclly is everquest 2 still pretty active? Is it worth a go?

Not played EQ since it went F2P so donít know how active it is now. Dungeons and Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings online are ok though. I dip in and out very infrequently, but there are a fair few people about whenever I do log in.

Unfortunately itís all about GW2 these-days as far as F2P MMOs are concerned.

The free to play model in EQ2 is completely fucked, and it performs terribly even on a high spec rig. Play LOTRO instead. The combat in EQ2 is better but the whole game design is very old fashioned if you're not already "in".

Nevermind EQ2, the original Everquest is still going. It's on something like it's millionth expansion pack.

Dungeons & Dragons and LOTRO are both worth a look too and probably the better options, especially LOTRO as it's particularly solo friendly so you can pick up the basics without bothering anyone.

Seems like LOTRO is a good shout. Think Il give it a go.
    Thanks everyone :)
