Nurse who fell for the prank call from an Australian DJ has committed suicide.

    I generally don't mind prank calls, they can be funny but they were inquiring about an ill pregnant woman in hospital to which they didn't know how serious it was, what's the best that could happen? Comedy wise, how did they envision this playing out?

    Yeah I mean you can't really blame the prank callers - its a pretty harmless prank to be fair. There's no way on earth they could have imagined someone would have taken it this badly. There was obviously some problems there already with her.

    Has it been confirmed to be suicide yet? Might not necessarily be anything to do with the prank call.

    Are we sure it's even related to the hoax? It does say she only took the call and passed it on. For all we know she's been planning on offing herself for a while.

    You'd have to be a bit funny in the head to kill yourself over this, so yeah, almost certainly had much more serious things going on prior.

    The hospital statement said they were supporting her through a very difficult time, so presumably this was the straw that broke the camels back.

    IF the callw a a contributing factor I imagine it would have more to do with the sheer force of the rimming she will have received from hospital management.

    Seriously, a hospital like that with a patient like that...the HR meeting would not have been nice.

    Apparently she wasnt subject to any disciplinary or anything.

    But in the end its all irrelevant. Just a tragic loss of life

    It doesn't matter who you think is to blame those DJ's are getting fired.

    This news has gone global and the media shitstorm heading there way is going to be big and nasty.

    It'll be hard to understand how it feels without being in that situation yourself, I don't think we can be so dismissive of her feelings and call her mental.

    I feel like shit when I fuck up at work even if no-one finds out, I over analyse and think about it for days, I'm trying to imagine if something I did made news around the world.

    In her eyes it may have looked like everyone was laughing at her, and I mean EVERYONE. That'd of been in her head where in reality I don't think anyone blamed her and just thought it was an unfunny prank by some attention whores.

    My first thought was to feel sorry for the DJs. It was only a prank call, and quite a harmless one at that to be honest - they must be going through hell right now.

    What happens if one of the DJs commits suicide?
