Castle level is excellent. Last time I had a smirk this big on my chops with a game was playing through the opening credits of little big planet for the first time. Genius!

Would it work on another console? I didn't get a chance to play the demo but it looks tailor made for the gamepad.

Not much more to add really. Beautiful, fun, funny and Castle Rock is just brilliant - big smile all the way through the level and immediately replayed it after I finished it. 30 plays is beginning to sound like not enough already :D.

One other thing, as I alluded to earlier in the thread. The whole game, from graphics, to design and use of the pad really puts NSMBWU in the shade. I am really enjoying NSMBWU, but it's so safe and predictable. Even the use of the pad is vanilla. I noticed Nintendo is publishing this in Japan. The conspiracy theorist in me suggests this was part of a deal they struck to get it delayed and not outshine Mario. ;)

Played this a little last night really enjoyed it. The game is gorgeous, origins was pretty but this is a step beyond. The thing that's impressed me most on wii u so far is the lighting both this and nintendoland look phenomenal in that regard.

It genius! I don't think I have ever laughed so much whilst playing a game. I played that level 5 times in a row. It's totally sold the game to me! The graphics are beautiful. Am I glad I bought a Wii U? If I wasn't already, I am now!! :-)

Edit: 1st March!? Oh man...!! I want this now :-)

Yeah, me and the missus played that level a fair few times in a row too.

It's gone on the pre-order list.

Haven't been active on the forums much for a couple of months now but I just popped back in to say that the demo is awesome. Everything about it. First I thought the pad controls were just there so the pad would get used at least one way or another but on my second try I realized that it's much deeper than I thought. On my first try I didn't know that I don't have to rush and moved platforms etc. like a madman. Once you realize that you don't have to do that and that taking the time to actually think about the order in which to do things to find some secrets it gets quite a lot of fun.

Definitely getting this when it comes out.

Aw man, I was going to pass on the WiiU after being burned on the last few consoles. But I loved Origins so much and this looks so awesome, I'm going to have to get one.

So £340 for one game....ouch. Totally worth it though.

Wow, demo blew me away. Castle Rock, beyond awesome. This is one of the prettiest games ever made. Can't wait for release!

Hang on a minute...I can't play this on the Gamepad screen? Just tried it on the demo. This could be a deal breaker! :-(

Any word on this coming to a proper console in the future? Origins was neat, and it would be a shame if normal people don't get to play this one.

    @Deckard1

Your post was sort of insulting. And no, it won't appear on a 'proper' console for 'normal' people as it was built from the ground up with gamepad functionality.

When I said normal I simply meant people who don't molest children. Sorry if I caused any misunderstanding.

Can anyone set my mind to rest and confirm that it can be played on the Gamepad alone?

Might have to click on "Read more"

    THE GAME MUST GO ON
The Wii U allows you to keep playing the game even when your television is off. You will be able to continue Raymanís adventure on the screen of the Wii Uís new wireless controller.
So yes, according to Ubisoft you will be able to.

Not been on my consoles much, the last week or so, so I hadn't seen there was a demo out for this; will have to grab it tonight and see if my pre-order for £19.99 with Zavvi is worth it... ;)

What a brilliant game. Really impressed. A little underwhelmed by Mario so downloaded the demo of this and for me the magic in this game is what I expected from Mario - im not far in to be fair.
