Pretty much why we had to tell people 2nd time around, we needed the help and the wife's absence was becoming an issue.kalel wrote:
Most people wouldn't have announced to many of their friends and family by then, let alone have it national news. Their hands be forced really, there's no way they could have kept something like under wraps these days. Kind of a shame for them and must be really miserable for them even without the media circus. But fuck it, they're the royal family, comes with the territory.
8 weeks isn't stupidly early anyway. 12 is the standard but by 8 weeks you're past the most common period for miscarriages. -

Registered 7 years agoWe had to tell people early because, frankly, you cant stretch a stomach bug over a couple of weeks. It got to the point that it was just ridiculous. Everyone clearly knew, what with the wife refusing wine and hurling every five minutes so we had to tell people at about 8 weeks too in what was the least surprising reveal since George Michael came out.---------------------------------------------------------

If I printed out an ultrasound scan, claimed it was Kate's and charged £10 for it, I wonder how many people would be guillible enough to buy it?

If it transpires that media had tracked her down / were doorstepping her, it'll be Dr David Kelly all over again.
Horrific and sad. The worst bit is that the whole royal baby / hoax call thing is such a non-story on so many levels.
EDIT: BTW they're now saying it's the nurse and not the receptionist.

Registered 10 years ago@RedSparrows Indeed. And I hate to point out that the 12 week period is a pretty terrifying one as well. As a human being, I hope this is not the case, but it's probably worth noting that it's feasible there may not even be a baby... -

Registered 5 years agoWere the press hounding her? I don't read the tabloids, but didn't hear anything about the incident afterwards in other media outlets. -

Registered 6 years agoI don't know if the press were hounding her or not - I wouldn't put it past them, but it's concievable she was wracked with guilt (since when did reason play a part in such equations?) and... who knows? It's just all so pointlessly horrible. -

All she did was put the call through, probably not the brightest of ideas but it's not an information governance issue.
