Tomorrow in the Mail: Kate's ultrasound picture, with article about the foetus "flaunting its curves" and looking "beyond its gestation".

My wife is delighted that she's been admitted. Not because she's a sadist, but because she suffered from Hyperemesis for the first 4 months of her pregnancies so is pleased the condition is getting some high profile attention. Not that anything will be done about it mind you.

It's very, very rare I say this, but thank fuck I'm Irish. The only thing worse that boils my blood more than a life long dole dwelling chav pissing everyone's taxes away is supposed 'royalty' (it's the 21st century for piss' sake) living like well, kings and queens off the back off the working man's hard earned.

It's crazily early to be announcing news like this. Some source said she's only 8 weeks gone. I think there's some statistic saying that 1/10 of all pregnancies are miscarried - and the vast majority of these happen in the first few weeks- often undiagnosed because lots of people don't realise they're pregnant.

Maybe they were forced into announcing it because the press had a lead. Sad if that's the case.

    But good luck to them.

10-20 percent in the first 20 weeks and that's accounting for age, lifestyle and various illnesses.

Maybe you're thinking of countries with third world healthcare access like USA.

Out you popped, out of your mummie's tumkin and everybody shouting, 'It's a boy, it's a boy!' And somebody said, 'But it hasn't got a winkle!' And then I said, 'A boy without a winkle? God be praised, it's a miracle. A boy without a winkle!' And then Sir Thomas More pointed out that a boy without a winkle is a girl, and everyone was really disappointed...

I thought it was more like a third, with the majority of those not being viable pregnancies so weren't known of.

She's gone into hospital for a week as said. They either had to lie about why (which would have been exposed as such eventually) or announce it.

8 weeks isn't stupidly early anyway. 12 is the standard but by 8 weeks you're past the most common period for miscarriages.

Could the press please stop referring to Kate Middleton's hyperemesis gravidarum as 'acute early morning sickness'? It's like calling pnuemonia 'a bad cold'.

Most people wouldn't have announced to many of their friends and family by then, let alone have it national news. Their hands be forced really, there's no way they could have kept something like under wraps these days. Kind of a shame for them and must be really miserable for them even without the media circus. But fuck it, they're the royal family, comes with the territory.

I hope it's twins and they come out at exactly the same time. Or maybe Siamese twins. That'd make the next-in-line interesting.
