What intreased me about Destiny isn't so much the game itself but rather the potential it has to shake things up. As the article on the front page said it is an MMO without the traditional approach. Just imagine where Bungie can take it, if not restricted by out-dated mechanics such as hot keys and old Internet speeds. While yes Planetside 2 is a FPS MMO it is basically just a standard multiplayer shooter but with more people. It has no story, campaign, or random events, it is a good game but apart from scale of numbers does nothing new.|
Not to say that is the only thing Iam looking forward in Destiny is the concept, as Iam sure I will love the maps, story, guns etc. But none of that will be anymore than Halo+.
