    you mean like an 32gb retina iPod touch 5 that costs less than a vita with a comparable official card?
    @nickthegun

    No, I mean something with real processing power, twin sticks, AAA gaming, backed by Pro Audio Video signal processing and on a great screen. Not just a LCD with a great dpi.

    This is true. Although I don't think anyone goes and buys a new vita every year to keep up with the OS etc.

    I love my vita. But I think you're overestimating those things in today's market.

    A Top Tip viz, when you're quoting someone you don't then need to type @username. To reply to someone, press the Reply button so you don't spell someones name wrong.

    Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    Which, aside from that being absolutely laughable, was not your original point.

    PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO THAT FEATURE IN PS VITA SLIM AND LITE AND XL AND GO
    Er, there has never been a PSP "XL". The Nintendo DS, on the other hand...

    Bottom line: The Vita is better at games, the iPod Touch at everything else. This is a gaming site hence the Vita wins.

    The PSP has had as many revisions as the DS had.

    God, let's not go there...

    But my point stands. There was no "XL" revision to let you see those bloated pixels in full glory.
    And I do get jokes, the man with the gun :)

    Without getting into the merits of this thread the vita != all console and PC gaming...
    If it's dying it's just that one console...At a stretch you could say it extends to portable dedicated gaming devices, but even then you'd have to ignore the 3DS' success...

    The recent "end of an era" comment by the man from Atari, and the link above suggest these people see an iceberg for all gaming as we know it.

    Gaming is never going to die, but consoles are unlikely to hit the heights of Wii sales for a while unless something really sparks the imagination.

    @vizzini:
    So you're changing your point?
    Now the games industry is doomed, not because the Vita is doing badly but because Bushnell thinks so? And being one of the earliest founders he automatically knows the future?

    Wasn't he the dude that started a robot company which then sank?

    As long as there's a target market there'll be a games industry...

    I've got a Vita, a 3DS and an iPhone. I'm trying to work out if I'm killing gaming, or saving it.

    To be honest I think the game industry as it is now needs to be killed, the short term pain would be immense but what comes after it may mean that devs can get to making games they want rather than being told what to make by accountants and marketing.

    @dsmx for about six months until all new publishers and marketing takes their place.
    This generation has gone on too long and left the industry feeling stale. This won't be the end of gaming, but I wonder if it will be the biggest dip since the video game crash.

    I just bought one, even with absolutely nothing of interest on the horizon the current catalogue is more than enough to justify owning one. Financially though it's not an easy to purchase to make, memory card prices stirred up bad memories of Memory Sticks, and the default price of most new games on the high street is more than the console equivalent in many cases.

    As a gaming device it's fantastic, but I can see why people have issues with it, the interface is truly awful (more so now so many people are used to iOS) and there appears to be no consistency required of developers over the use of touch screen or buttons for menus (some even mix it up within the same game!)
