    ...'s C: drive.

I've recently done a fresh install of Windows 7, got everything running nicely and just how I want it, so I want to make a ghost image of my C: drive in case my hard drive shits the bed and dies on me.

What's a good (free) program to use? Or rather, is there a good free program I can use?

Windows 7 has a built in drive back-up imaging thingy.

Though it is quite annoying and is mostly for backing up data as well.

    You could try Clonezilla.

Ah Clonezilla will be no good, because I have neither a server nor a PC that will PXE boot.

You can back up on to a USB drive. It's about as user-friendly as herpes, mind. Used it once, took ages and it helps to be comfortable with linux.

It boots from USB, you don't need PXE.

Don't think you need any linux knowledge, it uses a simple text ui.
