    Fuck's sake. Apple disgust me, no other company would even try to do this sort of thing.

    As part of its now-defunct Courier tablet project, Microsoft applied for -- though has not yet been granted -- a utility patent for the feature in early 2009, something that caused a bit of a stir at the time. Samsung also applied for its own such page turning patent in Europe last October, and Google was granted a design patent near the end of 2010 for page turning on a "communications terminal."

    Waste of money. A real world life page turn is a combination of look and tactile feedback. Having a virtual looking page turn won't make it feel like the same thing.

    It's a useless and unpopular feature anyway. Most people who I know with reader devices prefer instant page turns to fancy animations that look clever the first time, but just annoying after the four-hundredth.
