Just downloaded it this afternoon. My girlfriends playing first, having completed the first 20 levels, so i've not really had a proper hands-on with it yet. It's already looking a bit harder than Pullblox though. I can imagine the large, image-based, murals are going to be insanely hard!

Anyways, I thought i'd get a thread going so those that own it can share their thoughts and their own creations, whilst those that don't can perhaps get a better impression of the game.

I struggled with some of the later levels on Pullblox (in fact the release of this has made me go back and play through a few I missed).

Have picked this up as well. A great original puzzle franchise. Nintendo needs to stop hiding their new IPs away on the eShop and get some proper titles onto the high street shelves.

Looks good and prompted me to start playing Pullblox after a long absence (of gaming in general, actually). Will likely buy it when I get in from work tonight.

Downloaded and played a bit now. It is rather challenging but I'm getting the feeling that it's an instant classic. Brings back memories of playing The Sentinel in 1986 or so!

Question is. Is it as good a pullbox which I loved

It's slightly better in my opinion. I'm half way through it already, which is slightly disappointing. There's only 100 puzzles available this time around, though we're promised 20 more in the future.

It's definitely harder though and it requires you to approach even the most basic of puzzles in a different way. Because it's so easy to dismantle a puzzle in the wrong way, you have to take a step back and study the puzzles in their original form before you pull them apart. There's still room for experimentation, but you'll find you'll be resetting the puzzles more than you'll be rewinding time.

It's still a lot of fun though and some of the puzzles are very clever.

If Ninty would let me redownload the digital games I used to own, I'd be tempted to rebuy a 3ds to have a go at this.

I shall give it a go sometime this week. Sounds promising.

The puzzles actually remain quite basic, visually, but they're really getting tough now. There were only a handful of levels I really got stuck on in the first game, but there's been quite a few already which i've been stuck on for a while.

I've noticed you can skip puzzles at any time in this one, rather than waiting for the jingle in the original. I've refused to skip anything so far though.

Any unlockable characters or other playable ones?

Nothing so far. There are two new characters in the game, so I guess it's possible, but I doubt it.

I've noticed that in the 'extras' area, there are 5 unlockable options. The first is simply the opening cut-scene. The second is a giant cage containing all the birds you've currently rescued. They can talk to you, but they've really not got anything interesting to say. The rest, having reached level 60/100, remain locked.

Can anyone give me a hint for challenge 5 - 8/puzzle no 068? It's only 4 blocks but I can't get anywhere with it. I thought I had an idea on what it's meant to look like when it's finished, but i'm not getting anywhere.

Finally did that level tonight! All on my own, too! I'm on puzzle 80 now. Oddly enough, i've yet to see a puzzle with a difficulty rating above 3 stars. I'm dreading the 5 star ones!

Also, I wont spoil it, but there's a much welcomed unlockable once you reach level 80.

I never managed to do what I believe is the final puzzle on Pullbox. (The space ship one).
  • Deleted user 23 November 2012 13:13:57
Is it one of the bonus murals? I remember the last of the ordinary levels. Very simplistic, but so hard to figure out.
  • Deleted user 23 November 2012 19:22:59
I made a level based on the classic Super Mario sprite. It's nothing amazing, but if you're stuck on the more difficult stages, it's something else to do!

I did the main part of the game but the extras at the end were too hard
