Ooo I guessed that. Isn't it to do with outer body experiences?

What direct link is there between Richard Wagner and Blade Runner?

Blerg. I remember hearing that one of the names used in the film references one of his works, but I'm buggered if I can remember which.

I don't remember his music playing in Blade Runner, and I certainly don't think he starred in it (in those days being dead for a century or so really hurt your acting career). Are aspects of the plot inspired by one of Wagner's operas?

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

    Yes it is.

I just Googled the Blade Runner one; would never have got it.

Destria is closest. I picked this because you can reasonably guess.

It's the Tears in the Rain speech. Tannhauser is a Wagner opera.

Saying it's a "direct link" is a bit much, though. It was just a name they purloined.

    LB got it.

Yes, they purloined it. 'Direct' is too strong, admittedly, but the name is there, and is a clear link to Wagner (over any other known reference, anyway).

Which songs are the following lyrics from:

    1. "Well I tried to tell you so (yes I did)/But I guess you didn't know/As the saddest story goes/Baby, now I got the flow"

    2. "I stretched back and I hiccuped/Looked back on my busy day/Eleven hours in the tin pan/God there's got to be another way"

    3. "Death ain't nuthin but a heart beat away/I'm livin life do-or-die-a, what can I say?/I'm twenty-three now, but will I live to see twenty-fow'?/The way things are goin' I don't know"

    4. "Love lost, such a cost,/Give me things that don't get lost./Like a coin that won't get tossed/Rolling home to you."

    5. "I've seen 'em come; I've watched 'em go,/Watched 'em rise, witnessed it and watched 'em blow./Watched 'em all blossom and watched 'em grow./Watched the lawsuits when they lost the dough./Best friends and money: I lost them both./Went, visited niggas in the hospital./It's all the same shit all across the globe./I just sit back and watch the show."
