Fermi's paradox is that, given how easy it is to build machines that can gather raw materials to build other machines of their type, and given the exponential growth this would entail combined with the relative extreme closeness of stars given the billions of years to travel in, how is it that there is absolutely no evidence that this has ever happened?

    Put simply: where is everyone?

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Damn, that was just a guess. I CAN'T TAKE THE PRESSURE.

OK. What are the only two (non-extinct) mammals that give birth by laying eggs?

Edit: technically there are 5. But 4 of those are from the same family; just different species

    (A belated) OI!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squid
Squid, like cuttlefish, have eight arms arranged in pairs and two, usually longer, tentacles.

What is eight plus two again?

This is dangerously close to "what is a tentacle?" thing. Like the whole "how many legs does an octopus have?"

Ans so an octopus, which lacks these extralong tentacles, presumably has no tentacles at all.

I think arguing semantics to win an internet quiz might be a step too far for me however. Congrats on your victory, what question do you have for us?

LB, you really are a massive geek.
