The emperor, killed by being thrown by Vader.
Vader, dies after the duel with Luke.
Rancor, killed by Luke squishing him in the gate.
    Jabba, strangled by Leia.
Boba Fett, swallowed in the Sarlaac pit.

I'll give you that for the Rancor. That was the same as my list except I had Admiral Piett as my fifth.

Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader, killed by purple lightning from Emperor Palpatine (took bloody ages to die, and may have died offscreen, but killed onscreen)

Emperor Palpatine, chucked down a shaft by Vader (and then exploded?) - may have died offscreen, but was killed by an onscreen down-a-hole-chucking.

Jabba the Hutt, strangled to death by Bikini Leia.

Yoda, killed by Father Time using entropy.

Boba Fett doesn't necessarily die in the Sarlacc, he has armour and a jetpack.

And the Rancor doesn't count. And does Admiral Piet die onscreen?

He doesn't have a jetpack, Han Solo broke it.

    He could have fixed it.

Or climbed out using his grappling hook and his bounty hunter's grim determination.

    OK, try this one.

From what item, the professional version of something often found in the home, did the special effects team create Luke's original light sabre, given to him by Ben?

And Jabba could have a different physiogymy so that he was just wanking off instead of being strangled and an escape chute out of his barge, and the Emperor could have an emergency shuttle at the bottom of the shaft that he used to escape, and Vader could have just been standing in a moonbeam at the end and about to ask Luke why he burned his armour etc.

Was it a mag light type flashlight case?

In a similar vein then, what was the midichlorians testing device that Liam Neeson used in ep I made from? Again, a common household item...?

Jesus, don't make us recall ep 1. For many of us, the wound is still too fresh.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I know next to nothing about Star Wars, but even I know that the canon has Boba Fett later escaping the Sarlaac pit - and even ignoring that, he certainly isn't killed on screen (digested over thousands of years, etc).

Yeah, ha, see, etc and so on.
And "rancor" is a species, not a given name. Now if it had been "Bob the Rancor" or "Sparkles the Rancor" I'd have given you it.

And are you sure Admiral Piet is killed on screen?
Come to think of it we see a fighter smash into the bridge of his ship causing a big explosion, and then the ship he's on crashes into the death star in an even bigger explosion, so yeah he's probably dead and we saw it happen.

However, the Emperor doesn't count because canon has him coming back to life as a clone with a mind transfer or some bollocks.

Of course. It's a brilliant scene, Vader demonstrating that even blaster bolts aren't going to get near him.

    Your turn Deck.

Edit: The sound and score is brilliant in that scene as well. Hiss of the door opening turning into Vader's breathing, HEAVY BRASS amid Chewbacca's roaring, Han firing with whirling strings. Ends with the hiss of the door closing.
